Sorry, fellas but its been a few years since I've posted...

My 07 Phazer (16 kmi) has lost the reverse function and no amount of rocking is getting it back!
Problem is I cannot get power to the Reverse Actuator when I depress the reverse button. Not sure what I'm missing but I'm stumped..

What I've done so far:

1) Checked all the fuses; they're all good
2) All relays have been swapped
3) Idle set to 1800-1900 Rpms
4) Put 12v directly to the Reverse actuator and it spins and engages reverse. Swap polarity and it returns to Drive.
5) Swapped a different ECU and Speedo with different reverse button and still nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So what exactly is happening? You push the button and.... nothing? If that's the case, after years of trying just about everything and anything, there is no fix. Only thing that worked for me when it did happen was to shut it down, restart and immediately put it in reverse.

Only way to completely avoid this Yamaha f*ckery is to bypass the automated shifting system and put in manual switches with your own harness.

Thanks for the response Mooseman. I push the button and the reverse light will flash and the beeper will sound in a rapid two burst beep. Quick starts immediately into reverse or the turn key with throttle open then starting didn't remedy it. Was planing on a pair of momentary switches (one forward and one reverse) as a last resort but not ready to give up on the Yamaha f*ckery just yet!
