Wondering if I should get a viper this year or ride the nytro for another season and see if yamaha debuts a new sled for next year. I love my nytro engine and having it in a great chassis like the viper is so tempting. The viper seems like the perfect sled for me but I'm curious if a new engine is on the horizon? Perhaps some new 4 stroke tech from their sport bikes? Maybe a yamaha chassis?

this seems to always be the question. who knows what next year will bring, prob not as much as we would like. but its all what you want. newer chassis and the same motor and power you had before. isnt really much of a change. if next year comes and they have some new chassis with a new 170hp n.a. motor you will be glad to wait. but if thew just come with a redesigned phazer might as well get a viper this year. all what you ultimately want and $.

I had a 2010 Nytro then a 2011 Apex and now the Viper. The Viper is hands down the best trail sled I have ever owned. I miss the apex sound and power but the handling and corner to corner performance of the viper is kick a$$. Hit the lake though and I really miss the apex.

I traded my Phazer in on a new Viper, but still. Have my 2009 Nytro. The Nytro has over 27,000 km on it and is now my backup sled.
If you have low mileage and have your Nytro set up, run it for another year. It is still an awesome reliable sled.

Can't go wrong with a new Viper! Nice upgrade from a Nytro.......

Can't see Yamaha giving us a new sled in this class, after two years. If they do release something, either going to be a Phazer type, kids sled, touring, Bravo type. Dealer thinks a bravo type sled and new size kids machine.

I'm really hoping for a mid size kids sled. And on the topic, it all depends on if you want to wrestle a Nytro for another year or get a sled you can ride right out of the box. Can't see Yamaha giving us a new sled in this class, after two years. I bought new now, the reason is manufactures of sleds cannot afford to engineer new models all the time. Count on the Viper being the same with small upgrades for another 3 years at least....how long has RX1/Apex been here?

I couldn't decide so I did both.
I loved my Nytro XTX so much I had to keep it.
There is a saying in the electronics business about new stuff. Those who wait for the next best thing will never own anything.
