Having some BAD wear issues on the mono skid shock.. Tried searching this for awhile now. I know ulmer has the anti rub kit, but im in canada and a $25 dollar part turns into double or triple that after shipping. I've tried making my own bearing setup and they lasted 1 ride. Any other ideas for us canadian's? anyone out there with specs. on do it urself kits? part numbers, measurements etc? PLEASE HELP going for big ride this sat. need fix.

Anything a little easier?? I have had the skid out so many times i'm sick of it now. Anyone know where i can get the parts locally to make anti-rub kit?i used princess auto before. not the greatest quality. I will do the larger wheels in off season.. Spent enough on this sled already this year..lol

THE ULMER USE 6203 WITH 1/2 inside and made brass bushing to bring the hole size to 10mm.But those bearing are harder to find and pricy.
For about the same out side size you could take 6004 bearing they are 42mm vs 40mm for 6203.Make a bushing for it and longer bolt.
My alternative for the wheels mod was to make and anti rub kit with 6005 bearing 47mm whit a offset bushing so it will not contact with my KYB shock body. And with the taller bearing, the cog of the track will not hit the nuts on the shock bolt.

Check the link above,i did the pipe trick....1" and did not work for me.
I try 1 1/4" 1 1/8" and was rubbing like crazy,didn't like the mod.

only other option is a newer arm then.... both my front arm and back have plastic sliders to prevent this... one of the 08 upgrades.... look to see if you can find a crashed 08 or newer... buy the arms... or buy the plastic "bumpers" and modify yours...
just an idea... i feel your frustration... these things can be like this...

I had the idea of the plastic little slider, all 136" have them but not the 121".
The 128" on 2011 have the slider.
The thing is this was 121" stretched to 144".

shock wear preventer
I just had my skid out last week and I welded a piece of round bar stock onto the arm right behind the shock. I think I used 1". I did this before season and had rode about 2000 miles. So when I took my skid out last week I found the round stock was just about wore through so I cut a piece of 1/4" flat stock and welded that back to the top of the round stock. Just weld something behind the shock so the track rubs on that instead of the shock... ill see if I can get pictures.
Regards,
Kyle
