Looking at an Apex as an option for a new sled and not having a 1 + 1 seat seems to be an item lacking from Yamaha's great engineering department. Any after market ones?

seat jack from jack industries they make bolt on passanger seat that comes on and off with four hand screws.

industriesjack.com ;)!

i used to have one on my 2000 mxz and dad had one on his SX 700 they worked slick! same seat worked on both sleds but different brackets also the have options for racks im sure but it was a well thoughout and manufactured product

I haven't personally seen one, but a buddy of mine told me they are able to flex from side to side on the Apex due to the tall bent brackets that go around the mufflers.

He was going to get one so his wife could ride with him, but after seeing them in person decided against it (of course now he's got a REV - with an optional 2-up seat so this isn't an issue for him anymore...).

Has anyone here tried one? I'd like to add one to my 07 RTX for one of my daughters. If they're strong enough, I'd also like to be able to ride double with my wife on my sled. My suspension is setup very firm so I'm sure it could handle the two of us at more "normal" speeds.

The other "feature" missing from the Seat Jack is heated grips. Our Venture of course has heated grips, but if I had a Seat Jack I'd want to rig some up tool. Any solutions anyone has working to heat the bars?

I have one on my RX-1 with an Apex Mtn seat, no issues at all, I would not use it on a severall hundred mile run but for a little sightseeing my wife loves it ;)!

i have sold a few to some customers and not one has said anything bad about them and the ease of removeing the rear passanger seat is their favorite part. great product IMO

My cousin put a seat jack on his old sled (not an Apex) a few years ago. While it is a nifty option, his passenger found it too hard on the butt after a number of miles. It also made the sled ride too top heavy and they nearly flipped the sled a number of times around the corners. They had to ride slowly through the trails.

Honestly, I would look into trying to mount a Venture seat onto the Apex if you want a real 2 up feel and comfort.

I have it on my Attak and I find it good. It's no Venture but a Venture is no Attak.I call mine the justifier because the wife wanted a Venture and I wanted a Attak and I won because of the Jack Seat .Jack Seat are great.
