Any new problems with the grease zerks?

Mine won't except any greese in the rear either. The dealer can fix this under warranty. Why should I have to do it? What is warranty for?
 

Bottom rear the grease comes out at the zerk, everything else seems to be fine. And I need some updated wheels, they got wore out this weekend.
 
When I picked up my sled from the dealer, I checked for grease on all fittings and found none on the bottom rear. I had to pump nearly a 1/2 cup of grease out of the leaking zirt before I got grease at both ends of the pivot. Haven't tried it since its seen snow. I have around 270 km on the sled now so I plan to grease it before my next run. I will probably warm it with the heat gun first to loosen things up before I try it . That has worked for other shafts in the past. Still expect to be swiping off lots of bypassed grease from the leaking zirt.
 
The zerk on a front braket broke off, and I had it replaced (warranty). The rest of the zerks were JB welded, and now take grease. I was told by the dealer, that unless the zerk is sealed properly (JB welded), it will not take grease. Mine are now working fine.

I am concerned, however, that when one quits working (which will most likely happen outside of the warrantly period) I will have to pay to replace the suspension component. I will not be happy when this occurs. :o| Yamaha needs to step up and resolve this issue.
 
Yamaha to help with grease fittings?

My dealer called me to say that Yamaha is aware of the grease fitting (zerk) problem and is to be working on it, whatever that means.

Has anyone called Yamaha Customer Service about this problem? How about the 121" track/shock rub?
 
JB Weld Stick

Not sure how new this stuff is, but JB Weld has a "Stick" available which may work well to fix the leaking zerks.

Seen it mentioned in a motorcycle publication, the stuff is still a 2-part mix, but more like putty that you mix together by kneading it. Just thought I'd mention it.
 
Used some plumbing epoxy stick to repair our zerks and it worked great - no mess, easy to use.
 
I see I'm not alone on the rear bottom shaft not taking grease. As many as I have now seen with this same problem my best guess is the fixture that drills the hole for this shaft didn't go quite deep enough to break thru. I tried sticking a nail in mine and tapping with a hammer to no avail. The depth did not seem quite as deep as in the other zerks, but that could be mind trick, the metal after all is not that thick and a nail doesn't make for a good depth mike.
