It was a turbo shootout at the end. There was a supercharger and a fast f1ooo also at the end. It came down to a full power turbo and a simmons with a little kid driving it. The simmons won by a sled at 117 at 1000 feet in slush. The simmons won 2 out of three against the justins full power. VERY fun to watch at the finish line.

Hey, Thanks to who ever brought the radar gun, we pulled ours out of the case and someone forgot to charge the battery pack! :o|

So what were the ball park speeds on ALL the top 5 sleds? I am confident that, after they moved the starting line up several times to get out of the trenches, it was way shorter than 1000ft for the final races.

Great job to the guys who jumped in on the starting line and at the finish line. KUDOS for your help!!! ;)!

BIG FIRECAT, I was impressed with that F1000. I don't think that could be touched in 660. I don't know where you were finding traction...

Bobd1950,

It was nice to meet you at breakfast Saturday AM...

Mark's sled is a RTX ,Stage3.. 365 hp,with trail carbides, grass track.Stock susp.setup.From shocks to OEM strap specs.
Tripple pt. carbides. Stock skis.
Stock ride hgt. 112 fuel.19lbs boost. Only, 4 full power runs b4 this day.
Full figured driver.

bobd1950,

I don't think that Mark has even played with the clutching or anything. It is the same setup that Justin threw at it after the dyno. No "field" testing / tuning. ;)!

Wolfe got it done, though. No one can dispute that, cause there weren't any weight rules. He had the right combination / trail track for the conditions on that lake.
So now I am going on the Atkins !!! and ex-lax before the next trail race.
Hahaha

AJ,
I had a great time with you guys. I hope I get a chance to get up there and ride with you soon.
I'll take you up on your offer to let me test ride your sleds,
when I don't have a few 2,3,5 vodka / teas in me :drink:

Marks sled is a monster- you need to be that big to hold on. Met some nice tyers there- didn't catch all the races but Slickers friday night and saturday was a good time. Jack Daniels girls made a nice end to a great day

Yes is was.That crappy.
No complaints. But..
A Great idea having a minor (un-insured for the condtions)drive your 130+mph sled in a un -supervised,un-sactioned , un-insured, advertised, speed contest on a NYS lake,. Im sure all principles involved publicly (owner excluded ) were acutely aware of the horrific liability and PR storm that would ensue if a 14 year old minor was involved in incident that involved another (over 18 yr. old) operator,..would that be terrible beyond words.?

But ,,hey...Thats racing(?)! #$%&*
Mike Wolf is a very good friend of mine we have raced together for years. I have seen his son "Landon" race sleds, motorcross, junior dragsters since he was 5 years old he races year round. Landon's personal trail sled is a Nytro with a supercharger so he has some seat time on fast sleds. ps Mike's sled had a trail track with trail studs. Shawn ;)!

landon can run a sled good, The second run against mark they started getting a little close and "the KID" let out of the gas so they didn't hit each other. My hats off to mike and landon.

If that were my young son, I'd be proud.
Hell, I'd settle for my 7 yr old son showing an interest in just going to watch.
Next race i'll box my Wife up and send her out of town so we can duct tape my 9 yr old daughter Megan on a Full Power Performance stage "oh-my-god" to show Landon a thing or two.
:crap: Just kidding...

Good job Landon. ;)!

But if anyone got a picture of Landon standing next to Mark, that will be funny!

Thank you to AJ and his Dad for putting on a great event, mbarry we alot of time testing this sled, and like I said it runs very good, I know that I dont have the hp of a turbo but I know mine is set up very good and would give this guys a hard time. The elevation difference from 4th lake and oneida where I normal run was down 500 rpm but the sled 60ft like a rocket. I run a stock 1 inch arctic track with 1.5 hornet studs

Vince, no problem thank you for your help at the start line, after the first sets of sleds went it seemed like everyone picked up how it was going.

Don't forget that you told me in slickers that the TOP 4 get free admission to your race. Being you came in forth that leaves Mike Wolfe, Mark Tangas, and Mikes Friend Tom(I didn't get his last name) with free run in your race. I would like to get there but I know I will not be able to. Again thank you for your help.

Also Wayne Stoutner, tell John Thanks again for helping at the finish line.
you to Lymen.
Aslo those guys on them Ski-doos that help at the start line. I didn't get any of their names either,, Thank You.

Yeah, we all got stomped by a 13 yeard old with braces. That kid can ride and probably has more racing/riding experience than most of us.

The final 2 races were Mark and Landon, both had 2 chips left when everyone else was out. First race Mark - second race(and win) Landon. There was a guy taking finish line photos who said he will post, so they should appear shortly. It was Landon by a sled and a half, but Mark was closing fast, another 150-200 ft would have made the difference.

Great turnout, Great group of sleds. mine was a field filler at 230hp. I got beat by SPEED, that was fairly close. and (Tom?) the third place sled, not so close!

The best part was sitting in the Glenmore post race. Someone asked who won and fourteen hands went up! :jump:

It was a fun, informal gettogether just as it was intended to be.
Thanks to all who helped out.

Yeah andy, I have been hearing it none stop, SPEED and you put the whooping on me my first run, damn speed track, Then my second lose was to Mark Tangas and the other S/C sled in the finals. Great seeing you again.
