Just happened to be clicking through the sleds and see they still offer a 2022 RS venture. For $13,300 Seems like a good value compared to the sidewinder. Toying with the idea of a family sled, and I am more familiar with this style for maintenance (same chain case, shocks, etc) and stuff then my sidewinder which I want to sell.

wow, that's surprising that you would rather have a Venture, I've had both and prefer the SW but there are some very nice things about the Venture, just 2 negatives I can think of..drone, tippy...lots of upside like EPS, very warm sled, surprisingly good on fuel for a big sled. Joe

Forgot about the drone, that wasn't rectified yet? I have some brand new YRSS shocks and I think it would help the venture a lot in the handling. I am building a custom front end for my Apex.

I think that's is a great idea.

I ordered one to replace my wife's '13 Vector.

I love my 2020 Venture TF. Put on a set of Fox Float 3 air shocks to help with cornering and the drone has been a none issue in all honesty for me. I wrote a review on the sled in the fall edition of Snowtech. The price point was also a big factor in my decision.

I agree excellent Write up. Snowtech Magazine is the only one I purchase. Has been for many years. Disappointing that There was not more news about Yamaha in the last few years. Not Snowtech fault. As a matter of fact your write up was the biggest story about Yamaha for along time. I agree with everything you said. In relation to my Vectors. The Ycct throttle is amazing! The EPS kicks #*$&@. As you all know I was only ragging on Yamaha about the stupid unupdated rear shock on my Vectors. 2 Questions? Is the seat height on a Venture higher than my 2016 & 2017 Vectors. And how much did you adding airshocks to the front end of your Venture improve the ride quality? I ask because adding the updated shock to the rear of my Wife’s 2017 Vector made a huge difference! I believe air is king if it is reliable. P. S BOP soft start clutch springs are a game changer on these sleds!

Hi Snorunner,

Yes, the YCCT is exceptional for sure. The seat height of the Venture is higher than the Apex and Vector and easier on my knees. It's a really comfortable setup. Regarding the air shocks, I would say it made a significant difference with bump compliance and especially lessening ski lift. It took some adjusting to get them where I wanted, but definitely thought it was a worthwhile upgrade.

I was going to order a '21 however my situation changed and stuck it out with my '10 GT. Although there is an 11 year difference, I love my GT (after fixing the issues). Even without EPS or YCCT, it's a very comfortable and warm sled for my old body.

Glad to hear that the drone is not an issue, or is less.

PS: @greatwhite89 , great writeup however the pic of the back with the two riders is of a Venture MP :D

I think where Greatwhite rides there are big open trails where it is easy to keep out of the drone zone of 35mph..it seems he has made the most out of the Venture with some upgrades...it is a very comfortable sled to ride. Joe

Nice call, Joe. Yes, most of my riding is done in the U.P. of Michigan, with wide trails and long runs. Three are many times I wish I had your Sidewinder power.

Lol good catch! I submitted my pictures of my sled and Snowtech put in the rest of the pictures, including the Venture MP. Guess that model needed some love too.
I caught the cut down windshield but didn't want to say anything, clearly that photo was a Yamaha promo pix. Your photo's were great.

do you still write for Snowtech or are you a freelance writer?
