I'm wondering why there is no option for a engine temperature gauge for the yamaha warrior. As well I need a sleigh hitch to tow a sleigh to get to my cabin and can't find one built by Yamaha. Anyone know of any aftermarket ones out there or can someone post a picture of their modification so I can get one fabricated. Thanks

If you want to haul, you should get a VK540. RX1 isn't a workhorse. The tunnel is aluminum, and you could very easily rip it to shreds by attaching a sleigh unless you make very large brackets that bolt on over a very large tunnel area.

As for engine temp, these sleds ARE equipped with a temperature sensor. They tell the computer if the motor is too cold to run hard, or too warm. If you want to hook in a gauge, you have two options; 1) you can splice into the sensor that is there, it is a variable resistor just like any other temperature sensor; 2) You can add your own in the cooling system, or even better, add your own ON THE BLOCK to give you REAL engine temperatures.

LB, I was told it worked differently and wouldn't work with a regular gauge.

kinghooker, I use a caribiner hooked up to a light Ace Hardware sled for overnight camping or picnics, but I have friends who tow a sled into their cabin regularly behind an RX1. I think they have one of the universal hitches from Dennis Kirk. Try http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_c ... urrIndex=2
I agree with Lazy Bastard that their is not a lot of beef in the rear end for towing a sled so be careful. I was thinking of rigging some kind of shock or spring system on my tow bar to lessen any impact.
I remember reading some posts from our friends in the far North last year, and there was a hitch made from a door hinge that was mounted to distribute the load into the tunnel. I know these guys are towing heavy loads (Caribou, etc.)
