Has anyone with a relatively stock or just piped mtn lite played with clutching yet?
Have you found anything you've stuck with. I have no issue per se, but if there is a better set up for powder and elevation, I'd love to hear it.

I would be interested as well. I have my mountain lite still stock for gearing and clutching but am looking to tweak it a little bit. I ride all powder all the time (elevation 4000ft-7500ft) and think that it should be geared a little lower and a little more weight on the clutch. Just my $ .02

Since I don't understand clutching 100% this info would be good for me...
I know I want a little more track speed on modest climbs I was hitting I think 30mph Sometimes I didn't have enough momentum to make it up.

Would love some input, I had a couple guys ride my sled today
they say the RPMs are dropping off as I climb.
They said something about lighter weights.

this is pretty crazy cause my buddy i ride with is saying the same thing! he says at WOT between 11-13k elevation the sled barely hits 10.5k rpm.. he said light weights would do the trick.. any info out there? what are the stock weights and clutch setups on the mtn lite?
i've put a skinz exhaust on my sled at it feels better at altitude. we dropped the skiis 2 inches closer together and now i want to play with the clutching.. starting to get more and more out of the mtn lite!
edit: i'm about to do the dynotechresearch.com D&D air box mod.. we'll see

Was really hoping this thread would produce some good info, Phazed was thinking along same lines as I was, would like a little more on climbs in powder. Any info or suggestions on direction to start would be great.

hehe I noticed this thread, and clicked thinking I would find some info... only to discover I started the thread... LOL
Winter is coming... any clutching ideas yet? Is it really a secret that no one will share?

Just talked to a friend yesterday, a well known aftermarket parts dealer/tuner, in regards to anything new for clutching my wifes '07 mountain lite. He said they've been experimenting with all kinds of weights etc, but still nothing remarkable as far as any performance gains. Unless a person went into turbo's or supercharging, where you would make applicable changes, there isn't much you can do yet. She's got a 151" track and a few other mods, and it goes pretty smooth through any deep powder without any issues .
Will keep you posted if I hear of anything that comes up!

Guys; get a set of adjustable weights like heavy hitters or supertips. Tune em so your sled hits optimum rpm,s in your conditions by adding/subtracting weight where u need to gain rpm,s. I suggest reading Aaens clutching handbook also.

Warm weather and at altitude you need to lighten up the weights a bit to maintain max RPM
I will be looking at the girlfriends next week or so, it got sluggish in the heavy spring slush up high.
I will also try a lightweight muffler the dealer here tried out 3 different t types and found a slight gain with one of them , not sure witch one.
