I would agree with Turk, haven't blown a belt in years. I do my own clutching also, and use Ulmer's clutching. My Attak had a weird low spot after I ran the bottle on the lake in Canada. just felt weird on take off, like a skip. After moving, it worked just fine. I agree the stock Nytro clutching is not right. On Rib lake 2 weeks ago, we played with the clutching and gained mph and the clutching sounded so different after making changes.
As to why yours is blowing belts, I would listen to Turk, that is the 1st guy I ever saw trail ride in Canada with a complete set of clutches and parts in his back pack.

Turk how far west are you and how far from the N.D. border are you. I may be interested in some clutching.

I can't speak for others but my clutching /gearing combos are primarily used for 660 feet , so if I'm blowing belts, its usally due to not having an all around decent condition setup .Running an agressive setup usually has the belt in the wrong place in the clutches when riding deeper snow conditions. Now that I have turboed its a whole new learning curve for me.
Hopefully my 20+ years of riding/racing summer and winter will come in handy with this thing.
As for Turk, can't wait to meet him on the trail and throw some ideas around , he no doubt knows his Yamaha. Rode his turbo Rx1 down here, the sled definitly rocked!
