As I go through and repair/mod my 07 phazer I just bought I was thinking of closing the airbox to the oil breather line. I just dont want oil fumes and that mess going into the motor especially if I tip the thing in its side. I was thinking of just letting the vent go down near the bottom of the machine. Then block off the airbox. There isn't any negative to doing this is there? Am I missing something. I know its probably an environmental thing but Im sure what im doing isn't going to pollute.

What if it gets froze shut? Why is it a problem where the Yamaha engineers put it? Or is that why you're asking about the 'enviornmental' thing? Don't know i guess, just seems to be asking for trouble?
Your location says 'just moved here', where are you from?

Yam177 said he just stuck it into a soda bottle.I agree hanging down under sled it would get plugged and then make a big mess.

Its an EPA thing, when is the last time you seen a breather on car vented to atmosphere? ya, you could put it in a bottle or come up with an S-shaped hose routing so it requires a complete roll over to lose oil instead of just flopping it on the left side causing oil loss. OR get one of the rollover kits.
