Hey guys, anyone familiar with the Deadwood area? we are headed down there this weekend and are looking to ride Sunday until Wednesday. We are staying at the Super 8. I'm sure we'll be fine but I thought it wouldn't hurt to get some "hometown" secrets :-o !

id show ya around but wont be out there til thursday. there will be more snow towards the central portion of the trails. when you leave the super8 you will go buy the homestake mine head south in the area where trails 2 and 6 meet on the map there will be more snow in that surrounding 20 mile area you will have alot of fun. friends that live just south of lead say trails are in excellent condition. good place to eat Louies its in lead ask around everyone knows that place and not hard to get there is actual just off the trail system good burgers and pint size beers ;)!

Awesome guys thanks for the input. I will definetly be checking out Louies! I haven't even looked at a map yet. At least it will give me somewhere to start!! The guys i am going with are awesome, no plans just wake up have breakfast and ride somewhere new every morning. I will be riding from Sunday to Wed. then I have to come back home to work.. :o| The other 2 couples are staying through until next saturday. Can't wait!! i am leaving early saturday morning hoping to get into deadwood after supper. :-o

how did your trip to the black hills go? I think i ran into some people from your group at trailshead on friday afternoon

Trip was great! Other than my truck breaking down and being stuck in Fargo for the day. Looks like an injector went on me. Yeah I've been meaning to get on here, my buddies said you came up to them at Trailshead. Small world! I'd definetly go back.
It was hard for us to get to far off trail as my buddies wives weren't to comfortable with it but we did manage to get off the beaten path a couple of times a day and get into some knee deep powder and lots of trees. I hit my first tree!! Got stuck plenty of times. It would be fun to stay off trail for an afternoon and go exploring.
I was blown away with the spearfish canyon trail. Like i said i will definetly go back. It's a 12 hour trip from home so next time a full week will be in order. Thanks again for your help!

good to hear. if you decide to go again someday look me up. maybe we could go ride get you little farther off of the beatn path into some deep stuff!!!!
