I believe I had a 111.6mph in there somewhere and maybe even a 112?
Like Dan said, I tried the airbox lid + fuel added, and gained 1.5mph. But afterwards I repeated the run with my stock lid. Too bad it was windy, or I would have been more into playing with clutching.
A CONCLUSION has been made by me on clutch kits for the APEX. They are not beneficial for top speed runs. Dan's extra 3mph (his best in the shorter distance was a couple 114.6's) was due to RPM. My sled rev's about 10500, whereas he was pulling 11000rpms. My clutches were shifting a little further than Dan's, due to machining...but he mph'd me due to RPMs. Looks like rpms are where it's at for radar running, so far....
I held my sled barred for another 1000 feet, and think I would have gained maybe another mph. These sleds just weren't gonna go much faster today!!
It was nice to see MachZ Robbie there with his 05 MachZ, running 114-115mph I think. My friend Bob's 06 MachZ was the fastest twin MachZ there running 117mph with his son running it..cheater!!
My dreameter has 1 tooth off it, and was reading 114-115mph while I was passing the gun at 110-111mph. Perhaps another tooth next year??!!
All in all, it was a fun day...I miss my Tcat in these situations!!!
I must say hats off to Dan, he's the man!! Classy guy! Thanks again Dan for the great day!!

Great Day!
Dan-- Been nice sledding with you, Fred and Dano for the last couple of days. Great fun at the radar run. Just like to say it's refreshing to see a fellow sledder conveying his improvements to the rest of us and not being "secretive". Shows alot of class! Everything Dan said is absolutely right on -- seeing is believing (I was there)
The Apex's made a strong showing today. Consistant speeds from 110mph to 116.6 (Machzed himself). I'm sure the 2,500' run allowed all the stock sleds to wind right out.
I'd like to mention the speed by a sleeked out first year Vmax 750 belonging to Wilf. He pulled 118mph in 2,000 feet -- maxed out his gearing which was set to pull 1,000'. The old Vmax 4 cylinder still has it!
Also I like to mention a RX-1 2003 with a taller 25 top gear pulling 110mph in 2,000 ' and 112.2 in 2,500'. (Nice job Byron!)
Just so ya know, I was driving an 1998 SRX700 --103mph in 2,000' and 107mph in 2,500'. She has 16,000 plus km -- getting a little tired but still fun.
A great day was had by all! Thanks for the invite, Dan.

Thanks alot for making it over, and thanks for the kind words...I think next season we should be able to get more testing on on these, maybe the 23 tooth would be a nice thing to have there on ice,im not convinced 23 on ice will work on radars but it SURE SEEMS it works on hardpack..
will be trying alot more next season, but i think for me ill be heading back home to niagara falls and hanging up the sledding hat for season.
Hey DAN!,thanks for posting WILFS speeds and Byrons speeds, his RX1 was working well, wilfs v-max 4 is a real nice radar sled,he had it setup for 1000 feet and pulled 118 i think far before our gun spot at 2000.NICE WILF!
I think randys ER is very strong for stock stock!...I swear that ER windshield DOES HELP!..i cant get behind mine at all,and when i do i cannot see track at all, lucky i kept is straight as i was tucked!..LOL.
thanks again everyone!..and special thanks to Daryl AND ED for making the track as good as it always is,every year!...you guys rock!...we will seee ya next season, also thanks to ROBBIE and the other mach guys for coming, its interesting how last season it was all machs there, and this season ALOT of apexs there, and still some machs, but more apexs...the machs still got it,no doubt...but for our 150hp and 4 stroke power the yammies really are right there!
Loved MY RTX!

I think he reported 118 at one time on Dootalk, but he can let you know for sure. I know the Apex can run the 120mph club on the right day with the right setup.

So Dan
I just got a call from my cousin. What is this I heard his XC 800 ran through at 119 and geordie ran the Fusion through at 112. if this is true I think someone needs to figure out these Apexs, because I don't want to be behind either one of those two!!!
Cheers,
Kyle

hey there,
i see where this is going and I have no problem saying my mach was faster and quicker,it was well setup with dalton clutching and domes and pipe mod...that being said,i ran a 120.9 on a DIFFERENT day with DIFFERENT lenght(3000+) and also, that day all other machs ran 117-121 or so...
yesterday ALL MACHS ran approx 114 to 117 for best ,in the RT chassis...and a renegade only would go 108.2 period.
I still love alot about the machs, they do certain things very well, and WE all know what they can do when tuned right...I still am super happy with my decision to go into a 4 stroker,i honestly didnt think i could be this close to a mach in speed, with such little effort, ive only had the sled about 3 weeks and only one weekend to test it on ice so far.So all in all the season turned out great.
thanks to Daryl an ED once again, they are die hard DOO guys as was I for 25+ yrs..,to me its more about making them ALL GO,not that a yammie is faster then a doo or visa versa, the guys out there with there clutches all apart sunday are just like me,tuners....I might not know all there is to know, but test and tune is name of the game and DOO ,poo, yammie or cat,we all like to tune..Stones F9 ran some awesome numbers and got 121+ on the gun....hes a great guy to hang with on the track..we all had a great time reguardless of the internet rhetoric that goes on with brand loyaltys....being a sledhead is enough for me.

hey bud,
we did move the gun down to 2500 ft and i think the fusion may have run that spead at that point, but at 2000 ft it was 109? i think..while another fusion only ran 103ish.....i dont even recall an xc there, but it may have been my buds who has a xcr triple motor on it..that would explain it..LOL.
its too bad you missed it,we had a great time and turnout...
