2011 apex xtx. Has anyone heard what a good top end rpm is? With a powercommander would running it at 10,900-11,000 be about right? Stock top end rpm what have people seen or heard to be a proper rpm for best top end speed 10600-10700? Or higher?

I have heard you don't want to run them over 10,800. Supposedly the power starts dropping off sooner on the 11/12's than prior Apex's.

From anyones experience where would you go with an outcome like this.

Rolling start holeshot 10,500 climbs to 10900-11000 and holds.

Standstill holeshot 10,800-11,000rpms then when it finally hooks up its at 10,500 climbs slowly to 10,800-10,900.

What it looks like to me is with the warm conditions we have and on a hard packed trail the top end looks right but when it finally freezes hard i may have problems. To accomodate for that Im going to add .5grams to the tip and see

Now for the holeshot Im obviously over and will be much worse come a hard freeze. Is the solution maybe to add at least 1.5grams to start in the centre to tame down the holeshot rpms? Will it affect top end as well with the extra 1.5grams?

Sled has a 144" ripsaw 1.25". No studs and its not an option either.

Regardless of the kit im running in anyones experience what would you do in a situation such as this?

I think I would do exactly as you said. Just add an .5g to the tip or even the center to see if you can bring your top rpms down just a bit. Then go from there.

Frome a dead stop you are only hitting higher rpm because you are spinning more/longer. From a roll you are hooking up sooner. In harder better hook condition's you will probably drop rpm sooner due to less spin. I would make changes after you run on the condition's you intend to race on but it look's like you will need some tip weight.
