Just wondering if anyone knows what skis would work good for trail riding and good top end speed runs on groomed trails not ice. Thanks for any info! Its a 2011 apex xtx. :yam:

USI tripple threats are supposed to give 3mph on top end.

Is that USI claims or has this been proved over stock? That would be a significant gain..

If I had to guess, just from a looking guess, no testing. The usi railers when new would give best speed with small host bar. this is because of a stepped hull design like speed boats, traped air gives no friction.

second place I would guess would be a wide, flat ski with very shallow keel with tucked in small host bar carbide.

close to 0 toe with suspension extended like it will be on the throttle would help.

dont forget to adjust the track for that last few mph

USI's have steps in the ski similar to what they put in offshore race boats at the rear of the hull.....it's supposed to give some lift at speed. Not sure if it works but that's the theory behind what they've done to the ski....I do know of one fella that claimed 2mph on radar with these skis.

Either way, I don't believe you will lose top end from these skis and they are better then stock.

So I have the USI's....+ 3 mph, and the stud boy Duece bars....- 3 mph. I guess it all equalls out. LOL ;)!

I just put the stud boy duece bars on my triple threats, no more darting... finally... I did feel a little more drag but it could of been the conditions as well....
