Holy SMOKES guys!!!!!!!! Now thats some nice air there! Ya I do get what a lot of you guys are saying about the MONO shock sus. I am a pretty fast guy that likes to jump and bash moguls all day long! Not to act cochy lol. But I don't want to buy something that expensive and not be able to ride the way I want to ride with it! Does the Mono SUS. have any upgrades that I can get for it mabey that'll make it a stiff sus.? Like springs and such? Or won't that be enough?
I think a NYTRO would be nice but the top end scares me, I here theres not much! IDK what that means, lol, 70,80,90,100 mph????? But mabey thats where I should head to is a NYTRO. I mean I really like to ditch bang and jump so mabey that should be the sled for me, lol. I here their giving away good deals too on them.
Well thanks guys! I LOVE THOSE PICTURES!!!!!! Keep 'em comming.
Dude thats a Vector in the air (up above)? Have you done anything to the suspension? Thats amazing!

The vector had a boivin suspension. It did help allot.
The larger spring for the mono does work allot better. I would take it to get some rebound revalving if you really sinch that spring up. I had some real severe rebound issude with the bigger spring cranked. Any good valving guy can get that shock up to speed. Or if you need contact info to a guy that does great work let me know.

I have the heavier spring and a revalved shock in my skid (mono). I still don't jump it, but I do like the firmer ride and the fact that it pretty much never bottoms out on any trail (with me riding).
Unfortunately I found the pivot arms just break faster with the stiffer valving and stronger spring...
My front pivot arm is now mostly boxed, braced, and gusseted. The rear arm has two extra gussets and the areas where both the shock and the weight transfer adjuster mount are have extra welding and reinforcements. I found another small crack in the front arm so it will probably end up fully boxed in.
I'd put money on anyone trying to jump and pound a 06 mono-skid through moguls will break the suspension fairly quickly.
It's not a bad skid for cruising, lake racing, and riding moderately quickly on the trails but don't pound on it...
To the best of my knowledge no one is offering aftermarket mono-skid parts, except for Bender for their Pro-Action to mono conversion (parts are out of stock - backordered). I was told Bender makes their pivot arms out of chromoly.

I have jumped the attack over 100ft, landed flat a bunch, generally hit the biggest holes i could find.....generally ridden the tar out of it.....
I have:
1) Bent the tunnel about the second ride had to reinforce (back section)
2) bent some pivot points- not bad ....yet
3) done some serious revalving
I am not overly impressed with the durabiltiy at all. But it is a big heavy son of a %itch!! With all the wieght hitting evertime you go up and down your gonna break things.
.....man i need to get some pics up!!!

NOS,
Looks great. How'd that side pannel paint hold up for you this season?

Awesome!
Have 2 stone chips from poor trail conditions, and a stump mark (my fault early in the season). From boondocking with Rich, (lots of trees and branches rubbing), the marks wiped right off, and was amazed! I posted pics in the topic, painted side panels update, of the chips and stump mark.

NOS,
How's the suspension holding up? Have you inspected it carefully? How many miles are on your sled?

No problems yet, except where the studs have rubbed on the cast aluminum plate under the seat. Looks like I will have to replace that before the plate disintigrates. Otherwise, no problems. I will be moving the clip position to the 3rd clip position, cause of sag on the spring. Just at 2,000 miles or a little over.
