I haven't had much time to troubleshoot been sledding but I got c1600 c1603 alarm (open circuit hand thumb warmers) and obviously have no hand/thumb warmers and no heated seat. I pulled steer post pad and disconnected the right hand warmer and it tested good! The other connector for the thumb warmer will not come apart !!! I am guessing it shorted in the connector and melted it together.

I need the schematic to see how everthing is wired so i can temperally take the thumb warmer out of the circuit and just run the handwarmers until I can bring to dealer
I am guessing since I lost the heated seat, hand and thumb warmers all at once that they all run on the one 25amp fuse so if one of the 3 shorts nothing works?

Has this same issue. Check the contacts at that fuse. Mine was very loose. I could wiggle the fuse. Ended up melting the plastic around the fuse due to it arching out. Yamaha would not cover it. Take the fuse out, and bend the pins in to make a tight contact.

Ok thanks I'll Check this

All too common issue. Shorted/broken wires at/near chip.

soo i lost my right grip last week after i saw when i took pad off center of bars that they made the wires sooo fn short that they barely connect, soo i pushe them together and then the right warmer never worked, turnes out the wires pulled out internaly from connector, so i cut them of and extended wires and crimped new ends on and every thing wrks perfect now.... they are ppulled soo tight on sterring block im surprised alot dont have issues.

The chip I'm referring to is on the heater pad that's underneath the seat cover. It's an electrical part that controls the electricity to the pad. Most of the time, the leads going into the chip break because the design causes those leads to flex as the rider goes up and down. Eventually they break.

The one and only time I rode double, it was a very short ride with my wife, I found that my heated seat wouldn’t work on my next Day ride. It was taken care of by dealership through warranty, but nice to know what probably happened for next time when it’ll be me fixing it! Dealership brought my seat to a local Upholstery shop along with new seat element.

Funny how I really like that option now whereas I wasn’t that impressed about it when it came standard on my 17 LE.
