i have a turbo kit here pretty sure it was one from northeast turbos, and i be damned if i can get the tank shroud to fit properly. seems like the tank is a bit too tall. i can't get the bottom holes on the shroud to match up with the nut built into the side panel vents. if the tank was about 1/2 inch shorter in hieght it would all work fine but it is kind of piss!ng me off right now. it didn't seem to want to fit even when i had my stock tunnel on and i was mocking up the turbo setup!
anyone have any super secret tips for me??
thanks
dallas

Does it fit without the seat on? My Boss seat was causing mine to sit little higher just like that. There was a hard piece of plastic in the seat base/frame that wasn't allowing the shroud to sit down properly. I bent the plastic and now it fits perfectly.

no it won't fit with the seat off either!! the top bolts go in the shroud but the bottom ones are about 3/4 of an inch away from being perfect. it just seems like the tank is too tall. i finally got p!ssed off and mounted the seat undernieth the shroud and i guess i will have to live with it. the only way around it that i see is cuttin the tank down.

Maybe talk to Murray at mountain mod and see if he can make you a taller one. There are some plastic welders here in Calgary that can mod that kind of stuff.

no i took the rubber right off beacuse the filler neck isn't exactly in the middle of the hole. the tank is just too tall. even if i cut the top piece off my tunnel and just leave the formed insert for the top of the tunnel it still wouldn't be enough to make it fit ferfect. the tank shroud sits right flat against the top of the tank and still won't sit down far enough. after alot of thought and swearing i don't think i am going to be able to make it fit perfect, with ticks me off as i am pretty picky!!!!!!
does anyone else have the alum tank? do they fit good? maybe i got a very early production tank and they have fixed it for the new ones!

Can't help with the tank problem.
Is that a mountain mod hood? Superb graphic work and paintjob. Now I want one too. What seat do you have in?
