Anyone run a stock sw against a tp clutched sw?

I was just curious if anyone has run an all stock sidewinder against a stock tune sidewinder that has tp clutching?
My setup is 17 ltx se, stock tune, 192 gold digger 1.450 and 4th wheel kit, i have never ran the sled with stock clutching, i added everything this fall before i even rode the sled.
HH set to Lons specs
Orange primary and glide washers
Orange secondary and 33/35 helix.
The first 100 miles i was at 3&3 but never really went over 6000-6500 rpm, i seen the post saying go 2&3 and i switched to that and now have 350 miles on but never really got to check out how it pulls or rpm as i am having code sd_30 oil issue, after i had on 200 miles and started to do some wide open runs and ride it hard is when that code came up. Which is hopefully being cured now as it is at the dealer.
I did notice when i pulled it apart there was alot of belt dust in the clutches at 3&3 so hooefully the 2&3 helps that.
I guess im just curious to see if anyone ran stock before the kit or ran a stock sled against a sled with a kit to see how it stacked up, with all else being apples to apples of coarse

The best part is that I was 60 lbs heavier. We even switched sleds and same results. Clutched sled was faster. By the way. Try your helix at different settings. All the way down to 3-0. We are seeing gains to be had at lesser settings. Seems to be different depending on sled model and other things done to the sleds.

I’ve been doing a lot of testing and it’s at 3-1 right now. I’ve went down to 3-0 without slipping the belt. With my 153. 3-1 seems pretty good and no heat in clutches at 275hp. I’m going to test more this weekend I’m off after today until Monday. NOS-Pro will be here for the I500. I would set yours at 3-1 or 3-2. Try both and see which you like better for your riding style.

I have an LTX, stock tune, 192 studs, 4th wheel kit, with stock primary weights but TP orange secondary spring, 33/35 helix. I raced another LTX, same track set up, I would pull 4-5 sled length from the bottom to middle and slowly pull away from him. I weighed 15-20 lbs less than the other rider, just keep that in mind.. Loved the way the TP spring and the 33/35 pulled through the middle.
 
Yes: I put on 1800 miles on my LTX LE bone stock and no tune. Pre season, I installed the whole TP package:

HH's @ 5.7 grams or such, orange primary and secondary, cat rollers, glide washers, and 911 cover, and reverse helix. I specifically asked Lonn to set my weights to hole shot / hard hitting to 80 to 90. Im wrapped at 3-3. Secondary TP adjuster. I advised Lonn I'd let him know if I need to break 100 mph....but for now, I need to stay alive to feed my triplets.....so doing 130 isn't high on my priorities! (192 gold diggers @ 1.325)

When my warranty runs out...either I'll get a tune or the sled will be trashed. IDK which.

My low end is better, mid range fine, top end seems like it works harder to get there. I recall thinking my slim Jims cause a lot of drag. The best I can describe it: about the same but slightly better. That said, I'm eliminating potential spring bind, flat rollers, springs snapping ect Ect. Now though, I can also experiment with weights if I want to.

I never experienced any problems though, before I upgraded. #456 has been trouble free since day one. A few overheats, since the freaking thing is more of a snow-princess than anything else! She just has to have perfect snow or she's a bitch. Belt dust is about the same, never broke a belt ever....pre or post.

Last point: I'm not riding like I'm out to beat the thing to death. I monitor the ice chunks, try to be aware of what the clutch is doing, what I'm riding on, go easy in snirt and dirt, and basically freak out if something even sounds off. I putz around going down ice roads.....cuz the little bitch will overheat. My only two complaints: too top heavy and the 1.25 lug breaks free often.

Would I buy the set-up again? Absolutely. I ride a 100% more confident....but I was probably listening too much to others that had problems, although I did not.

What do you have the spring set at on you sled?
 
Thank you. I am going to be running the same set up in decided on studs. I have the spring and Helix just wanted to ride it first. Got about 750 on stock parts .

Not a problem. I haven’t gotten to trail ride it yet, just tested it on the lake with some buddies. Secondary was definitely warmer to the touch compared to stock, 1000’ pulls..

I’ll confirm I was the lighter slower one . Not anymore TD and Thunderproducts for me!
