Talked to Tom this morning and he recommended a kit for $285 that he said "would put a smile on my face". Anyone running Hartman clutching and are you happy? He also said to go to a 42 tooth gear with it.

Buy parts to bring your clutch up to 05 specs, take weight off, and stock gearing is fine. My buddies changed gearing and gained holeshot, lost trackspeed, and now I toast them even more on the hills. You get 05 specs, it'll cost half of $285, and you will have twice the holeshot of any 2 stroke, guaranteed. Just keep adjusting rivet weight untill your sled is reaching optimum rpm climbing, at altitude. You can't get any more power to the track than that. The work takes you 20 minutes.

I don't, do you?
Lee, that would be awesome if you could hook me up with that. Where is the best place to buy this stuff.....the dealer?

I forgot, the weights for 05 are 8BU-10. I bought all the stuff through my dealer and I think it was under $150. I'm running stock gearing.

I'd bet you could also buy the stuff at portyamaha.com. I bought some bearings from them and they were competitive with dealer prices even after shipping.

I know there are many places and options for clutching, I run Hartman on two Vipers that run CRAZY strong ~ have perfect rpm's for climbing, etc., and there is a lot of experience and knowledge in that camp.
