I just thought it would be cool to turn a GT into a all black sled (DARTHVADER LOOK)

Remove all the decals from hood..

Add a black windshield

have the seat recovered in all black

Just an option.. I think it would look cool!

That would look very cool....I am doing that with my 2005...(except the decals). I will take pictures when she'd all done!

:yam: Its so funny you mentioned that! My buddy has convinced his friend to purchase a GT that someone I guess is not taking delivery on.
His truck is all black and thats how he wants his GT. One difference though. Solid black except for a Batman emblem on the windshield!!

Black Windshield and seat would be cool and leave the rest the way it is.

Just my humble $.02 here
Stripping the decals off is not an easy job, and I think it will hurt resale and very expensive if you want to replace thm.
I think the GT is the best looking sled there is the way it sits bar none. I'd prolly chrome the exhaust covers and change the windshield. That is all I would do cosmetically. Even the silver seat stripe looks good on the GT (dont like it on the red ER or RTX though)

If you havent noticed... resale on sleds SUCKS anyways.. so really whats the difference.. :yam:

Actually my o5 vector had a great resale value. The RX sled market has not been all that strong. The Apex I think will hold value very well, expecially the GT if they keep it limited build

I never leave anything stock so......the plan for the GT is:

1. strip off all the decals, I have an idea for a different set of decals but they will be small and only sort of noticeable if If like them or it will remain all black.

2 Chroming the grey vents in the hood to match the windshield along with the front springs and exhaust covers.

3. Removing the rear suspension and polishing the rails.

4. I think i may have a windshield coming that is the Yamaha windshield but it doesn't say Apex on it which I like.

5. I normally would do allot more but damn, it already is a great looking sled!!!

That's it for now until I get it home to actually see what else I want to do to it. Resale value doesn't hurt me, I always lose on them. I never get back what I put into them, at least with my RX-1 my riding buddy is going to buy it, however he never cleans his sleds so I guess I will still have to clean it. I can't stand a dirty sled.
