Love my apex gt and even feels lighter now with m-20 rear end, best sled when trails are smooth an fast but my dad got a skidoo ace renegade last year because he just couldn't ride his venture any more, just to heavy for him he's in his mid70's now, I gotta say it is so easy to ride in our tight trails, every time I ride it I come back with a big smile and have in fun. It is bouncey in the front when you push it but other than that it's a blast to ride, friend bought viper this year and overall I'm impressed really like the ride an handling but the power is down from what we expected, falls in between apex an ace for weight but feels good not so light that it's jumpy but much lighter than apex and Stears very light also doesn't have the top heavy feel. I would love to geta new apex that was at least 50# lighter cause I love the motor but am ready for something lighter an easier to ride.

How come people only compare to the ski doo's? One of my riding buddies has the Rush switchback. He really loves it. Its only a 600 and I can't beat him out of the hole, and it sure eats the bumps. I'm really tempted.

I went from a 2008 APex GT LTX to a 2013 Apex XTX and what a difference. The EPS is great and what a light feeling sled. So I am 59 and rode just shy of 300 miles last Saturday and could have riden another if I could have got gas. I have just about got this sled tuned the way I like it and with a little attention to the rear shocks it will be really sweet for next year.
But hey ride what you like. I just won't give up the reliability, not having to carry around extra oil, a sled I can count on to get me from one end of the UP to the other and back again without even so much as grunt. Wow is this a commercial? Maybe I should get paid for this. Whatever you ride keep on riding! Its good for the soul!

After 13000 miles i decided it was time to replace my 06 apex.
Bought the 2014 viper rtx. I am holding on to the apex just in case im not happy with the viper.

One thing is certain. After owning an Apex it is very difficult to replace the power! Since owning an Apex I have yet to ride a 2 stroke that even felt close in power.
I even rode a hopped up F7 that was faster than my Apex. It felt like a dog to me. They just don't have the torque!

I switched yesterday with a friend who has a 2003 Polaris short track and after 20 min he said he was going to put it up for sale and get one like my 07 Attak GT. That there says something right off. We were trail riding thru the mountains.

Looking back at all of my Northern Michigan trips over the years I can count several guys that have come up with us that have switched brands to a Yamaha 4 stroke or dumped their Yamaha 2 stroke for a Yamaha 4 stroke. This years trip all of us had Yamaha Attaks/Ltx's. The used Attak I bought up there was traded in by the original owner. They gave me his phone no. so I called the guy and chatted. Turns out this was the dealers (Pat's) demo from 2007. He said he was originally an AC guy and was riding an F7 at the time. He took the Attak for a test ride and he was sold and has never wanted to go back.
I am hoping Yamaha just tries to improve on this engine package in a better skid. What I see so often from the other mfg's is suspension improvements year to year. Ski-Doo is now improving their front suspension because their R-Motion has made the front suspension feel lacking. Polaris has made huge chassis/suspension improvements and has a new chassis. Cat is on it's 3rd season in the PoCross chassis. Yamaha's only premium ride package is a basically an Arctic Cat. I was surprised that there was so little coming out from all the mfg's for 2015 considering the good snow coverage across the snow belts this winter. The dealers had a good year.

Personally they are all heavy if you get them stuck. Unless you are a power lifter and on a regular basis lift weights in excess of 400+ lbs......
Newfie, just looking at the photo, what were you trying to do here?
