Rode the Apex with EPS and came away totally sold on the feature. It seems a Vector LTX/EPS would be a dream trail machine.

I would. My arms just don't have the strength anymore in my age on some of these trails. Espcially early in the season.
It can make for a long day fighting the trails if they aren't real good.

My wife would....After she rode my 11 Apex. She always thought my 06 was to fast and too hard to turn. Now she says she want power steering on a lower HP sled no matter who makes it.

I'd say we'll see EPS on the '12 Vectors and Ventures.

How does it work? I understand it's electric. I thought I read it works more at lower speeds and less at higher speeds. But what about higher speed sharp turns?

There is more assist at lower speeds and it reduces at higher speeds. The transition is not noticeable at all...in fact on the groomed trails you don't notice the EPS is there at all...until you switch with someone without...then its is huge. When moving slowly through tight off trail stuff you really notice how easy you can turn. When starting and turning at the same time you notice also. This is where my wife has the hardest time… turning around in a tight area. So next year she WILL have it on hers also.

yes . u turns are a snap. Frankly, as I stated on the Apex forum, this is the most attractive feature in snowmobiling since rider forward. I sold my warrior and my Vector, in part, because of heavy steering on big mile trips or heavy snow/trail breaking...just too much to man handle and it wore me out. My Apex ride was like wow....this is big !
Interesting, some folks at the apex camp didn't see the benefit. My opinion : they're in denial.

Nice...very nice....
They are in denial because they don't want to deal with tradeing in or selling, etc. These aren't cheap.

Nice, but seems unnecessary to me and I'm 77. The LXGT almost seems too light on steering and driving the Apex '11 I wasn't that impressed with the steering, especially for the price increase. Hey, just my opinion, which still doesn't buy any beer.

Any time I see a 77 year old in a trailside joint I will buy them a drink! Keep riding my friend!

X2, glad to see your still getting it done.
I took my Father out 2 years ago, he was 73 and it was his first time in over 30yrs that he had been on a sled.
He loved it and wants to go again and I have no problems with that as he is the one who got me started at 9 yrs of age.

ia, glad to you are still at it, hope you go on for another 77. Love seeing all those old sleds you owned... now that's snomo history and you lived it !
Question : if you were buying a new Vector and EPS was only $100 more than without EPS, would you go with EPS ?

Sure at $100 it would be nice. Sure don't need it on my '10 Vector as of yet. Will know more about that after this coming week as we will be doing a lot of twisties.
Those old sleds were great, but when it comes to riding today, don't miss them a bit.
