Just curious if anyone has blown belts on there turbo viper?
I was reading on the sidewinder section it seems like allot of guys are blowing belts and got me thinking!
I got about 4000km on my 8dn(about 1000km with turbo) and have been running with my spare sitting on my self in my garage without realizing it!! I must have forgot to put it back in my rear bag while cleaning machine!
Happy I never blew one while riding alone it could have been a long walk

I have 6000k's (4000 miles) on my 8dn. I have had an MPI turbo with Ulmers clutch since mile one and I checked it the other day and it looks like new.

Change your belt it doesn't matter how good it looks, cords are probably getting fatigued. I don't go much over 2000 miles between changes. You could blow your motor if you blow your belt on a turbo machine

Seems pretty good and not to bad for belt dust! There was more dust in the first 200km than in the last 2000km. Either stock clutching was #*$&@ or it needed breaking badly.

Well LA DE DA aren't you lucky and romantic lol Just playing. Thats wicked you are able to get out this much!
I had about 2000km on my 8JP (1500km were stock, 500km turboed). Even with clutching I couldn't get consistent WOT RPM's and speeds with the 8JP, so I swapped to a Ultimax Carlisle equivalent to the 8DN. I have about 2000km on this belt and not even a mark on it so far.

I've been running the Dayco 10-xtx5058 belt for the last two seasons. The belt come with one year warranty so I change at the beginning of the season every year. I run my sled WOT in deep powder on the lake and hammer trails pretty good too and have never had a problem with a belt with the hurricane turbo.
