I've been having problems blowing the 3 amp fuse for my heated helmet visor. I noticed if I start the sled then plug it in it blows but if I plug before the start then it doesn't. I've heard others having this problem and wondered if you can bump up to a 5 or 7.5 amp to solve it without causing any wiring overheating issues? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Others have reported they were able to go to a 5 amp fuse with no problems.

I had the same problem. my Dealer called yamaha tech, they told him to up the fuse to a 5 amp fuse. Since going to the 5 amp fuse I have had no further issues in 1000 miles.
I had the same problem blowing fuses. I actually tried a 4 and 5 amp fuse and blew both. Plugging the connectors in when the sled is running causes a small spark which blows it instantly. To avoid blowing them I make sure the helmet is fully plugged in (to the shield and sled). Have not blown one since doing this. Just fyi.

You have to make sure the polarity is correct. It seems to work fine if wired correctly
