What is the farthest you guys have traveled on water with your apex or attak. The reason I am asking is b/c I have a $1000 dollar bet that I cannot run 3 miles of smooth water. I know the area well, and there are easy enter and exit rouutes, so I think I could, but have been proved wrong before. I have only ran maybe 100 yards or so, but would love to run more. I love a challenge, and would like to have the $$ for riding next year. LOL

Wow thats along ways. Well just make sure you have a boat near by just incase if you go under. But i hear the yammy's are great for skimming water. If you can accelerate on water like from shore then you should be able to do that distance no problem. I heave heard of guys doing 1/4mile and up no problem. But i would make sure you have insurance and that the belly of the machine is sealed up good. I have heard of guys siliconing the outside underneath the clutch just for extra protection from water getting on the belt. good luck

Not sure what insurance company would cover a sled that goes down when it is obvious the owner is attempting to skip water, especially that distance.

My SRX hated water. Heavy and low slung, along with all kinds of unplugged holes in the belly pans could have spelled disaster with too much water running.

Seal your belly up and give yourself lots of transfer in you skid. I've gone almost a mile on apex.

I have sealed the belly up on a sled before, and it plain works. My attak also runs water like crazy. You can take off almost from a dead stop and accelerate just like on snow. A boat will be following, and insurance is paid. lol I think it would be a total thrill! But maybe I should find a cheaper 2 stroke and run it?

The Yami 2smokes were full of holes and sucked water. The Rx is pretty tight and I believe the Apex is the same. I would be going over it with Silicone caulk before I tried that distance though.
