love the motor dislike the suspension. pulled my skid as i do very year. put about 2300 miles last year, good year for riding. well the list was long
10 bearings needed to be replaced or were near that point, sliders( no big deal) crack front a arm. got it welded, and powder coated, rear sciccor arm./ rusted bad, had it powder coated, right rail cracked and replaced, 2 rial braces broken and replaced, second rail slight upward bend in it, front slider screws nearly shoot. replaced with stainless steel bolt and nuts.
the bearings i replaced last year on the drive and jackshaft needed to be greased again. front lower a arm slightly bent back. that is the third time for that,. lots of hours and $ .oh yeh! all front bushings gone again. ordered ulmer oil light set. hope it fixes that. just my RANT.

Bent & cracked Rails? Bent A-Arm. Broken braces. These are not rockmobiles! You know? You may want to consider trying snow. :-) Oh, the reason I commented: You may want to consider repacking those bearings. Unless the wheels are wobblin' or the bearings are rusty, I do it frequently, with much success.

the harder you ride. the more wear and tear the suspension takes. remember you put on some miles, and its a heavy sled. my cat sno pro was all brand new last year. started going through it to sell and found that stuff needed to be replaced again. its all part of a snowmobilers life. pouring money into them lol. just be glad that your not dumping money into a top end rebuild as well. :4STroke:

i believe in the 3 years that ive owned it ive figured out its not a rock mobile. if i drove it in low snow conditions i wouldnt have billet wheels installed, i also have a 2006 skidoo 800 x . second top end. no suspension isssues. dont take thinhgs so personal. yamaha do have flaws.

Yes, I don't have any broken suspension issues, but I just go through bearings, like I change my underwear. LOL.. They definetly have design flaws in that respect... I just did not expect that from yamaha. I don't think it's the norm from everyone that I talked to that have riden there older sleds like the vipers, srx's and sx sleds. But yes, better than the 2 clylinders, pistons and crank that went out on my 800 REV twice.

Look closer. If you don't catch those cracked suspension parts early...the consequences are painful. Good thing I was only going 40mph at the time of my first W arm failure. 40-0 in 1.5 seconds = 35ft human torpedo. I have online receipts totalling $8, 300 for parts beginning 60 miles after I bought my 06 attak. 80% of the receipts are repairs, 20% upgrades. Most of the repairs are suspension. I actually bought an extra W arm (3rd one), 2 upper A-arms (7th and 8th) and a light pod (3rd) to take with me to Valemount next month because I want to ride more than 1 day. Thank God for South Seattle Sports Plaza. Most parts were 70% more from my local dealer.

Unfortunately if I take it off the trailer...something will break.

Was going to dump it this fall, but can't find an Assault anywhere.

I feel your pain danx123.

Since you appearently are O.K. I have to say the image that poped in my head when I read that made me laugh so hard my belly hurts. Glad you made it out unharmed. Wow that must have been a trip. Agree the Mono can't take much without some major beefing-up. This sled is not a jumper or ditch banger by any sense of the word. Just a smooth trail cruiser, it does that extremely well.
