Hey guys, when i'm running on the asphalt and let off the gas at the end, I am getting a lot of backfiring. I also get it on the return lane if I rev it up and let off. It only happens when I am off the throtte. I notice it in the winter also but not quite as much.
Anybody know what may be causing this? If it is a fuel rich/lean problem, I can adjust it through my controller.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

My Attak did this after a LONG WFO run in the Western UP this winter. Noticed afterward that the exhaust seemed rather loud. Found a cracked exhaust clamp on the flex pipe to collector pipe. When I removed the tank and other STUFF, found it and lots of gunk blown forward on to the motor. Has since been repaired and is much quieter!!

Yep that's usually symtoms of leaking exhaust dounuts...or cracked exhaust manifold when you let off the throtle and she backfires I'd check them out first.

Thanks, you guys are probably right. I have noticed a slight "ticking" sound when I first start it up. The ticking does sound like an exhaust leak.
I'll check it out.
I'll check it out.
