Apex bearing replacement question

I have an 06 Apex with 6500 miles on it with a turbo and I'm going through my chain case. Looking at the bearing that is behind the secondary clutch it appears there is something holding the bearing and it might take a special tool to remove it.

Also, is there a source for bearings other then Yamaha? I can't believe what they want for some of these bearings.

All help is appreciated!

Thanks,

You need a spanner wrench. I got anold one and ground the tip a little deeper. Then hook that on the collar that is located in the back of the bearing. Then turn your secondary clutch counter clock wise it will spin it off. I did mine with the chaincase removed and last night.

I hate spending money wastefully on something I can get for a lot cheaper too but from what I have read, the Yamaha bearings are tough to beat and will normally outlast all others by quite a bit.

Thanks for the reply guys, I will just stick with the factory bearings, good luck with them to this point.

petrocfanada, any chance you have a pick of the spanner wrench you used? Also, how did you fit the wrench in that small space?

Thanks,
