Anyone else had the PTO seal on their apex leak? Mine only seems to leak when I lay it over on the left side, not when its running. But it sure pours out when on its left side! Yammy doesn't show a seal, just a complete countershaft assembly! A little info on what others have done? I find it hard to believe that people are changing a 600 dollar shaft if they blow a belt and tear up a seal.....I didn't even blow a belt, the seal just leaks when the sleds on its side! And it only has 1600km's on it!!! Any tips would be appreciated!

Seeing that you only see this when it is on its left side it could be comeing from the air box and running donw the motor. Making you think that the seal is leaking. Look inside your air box for oil.

I wish
No it is definetly coming from the seal, I figured it was the airbox, I pulled airbox, clutch etc, tipped it up and it is definetly coming from the seal.........I find it odd that no one else has had this issue or taken out a seal from blowing a belt........it would seam to be a fairly common failure area.......

I would suggest contacting Kevin at site sponsor Port Yamaha. He seems to have a knack at finding part numbers for obscure items the rest of us can't find on the parts diagrams.

PTO seal found
Seal finally found...........
Dimensions are:
40mmX52X8mm this size is hard to source
I ended up finding 40X52X7
Bearing and Transmission here in Canada just uses a seal number of:
40X52X7
SKF seal number 15801 OR 15808
It is a double lip seal, the one I found locally is only single lip, but seems to be working. I'll update after the trip this weekend.
