In its competition debut, the 2006 Yamaha Apex snowmobile launched hard and fast in three different drag-racing events over the August 20-21 weekend. Running on a 500-foot grass track in the stock class, which pits two strokes against four strokes, the new Apex earned an impressive four wins with its potent Genesis 150 fuel-injected 998cc four-stroke engine.

At the Pro Snowmobile Grass Drag Racing Association season opener in Martin, Mich., Jerry Fix from Fix Powersports took wins on both Saturday and Sunday. Two states away, in Brainerd, Minn., the National Snowmobile Racing Association season opener was also in progress, and Pat Hauck from Hauck Powersports took a win on Saturday. And finally, at the South Dakota Snowmobile Drag Racing Association meeting in Yankton, SD, Allen Ulmer from Ulmer Racing also piloted his Apex to victory.

Congratulations to all these teams for giving the 2006 Yamaha Apex a winning debut!

Jeez...you guys get all the press!! Funny they don't mention that we got killed by Jerry Fixx lol...he's real fast in case you guys were wondering :).

In its Canadian Debut (4 weekends ago) the Apex also did very well with wins on Saturday (Cole Racing - us) and Sunday (Bender Canada).

Hey doktor can you give us a link to see how jerry and anyone else is doing w/there apex, thanks

Awesome!!!

Yamaha is just kicking butt this year, setting new records, and really showing what a 4 stroke can really do.

With all this good press Yamaha is recieving compliments of the guys in the pits. Wonder if Yamaha sponsors these guys does anyone know?

Just to let ya know. The Apex dominated again this weekend in Wheaton MN. 1st in Stock 600 and 3rd in Stock 700 and Stock 900 as well. Hay Days in 2 weeks and there's still some time left on the table.

There is a 1.75 ratio in effect for 4-Stroke snowmobiles in most racing circuits. Example: 600cc x 1.75 = 1050cc 4-Stroke. So they run in the 600 class. That may change though with the new FI yammies. The 600 class guys are throwing a fit.
