Im guessing 118-120 if you get it just right..

Hey Rocket thanks for the info. What other sleds have you run on your dyno? How does this compare to a Fusion 900 REv 800 on the same dyno etc...

Thanks, :D

This motor is the nicest I've run to date. The fusion motor vibrated so bad, it made it hard to dyno. The Apex just runs smooth all day. I think the fusion made about 150 horse if I remember correct, but it wouldn't put that to the ground. Our vector spanked our fusion in a half mile run everytime.

Just some tips for you guys also, made some more runs this morning. Looking for about 2 free horsepower?? take that foam piece out of your airbox. showed about 2 horse right there on the dyno. Also tried some other mods. Might have to try some more if I have time.

Rocket

Yeah from my short real world field runs this motor is unbelieveable. I will be real surprised if there are many stock sleds that will top it.

Rocket, I would recommend leaving the foam piece in. You don't want your motor injesting a bunch of snow dust, but just my .02!

Allen,
Good point. Just a thought that I put out there after I saw what it did on the dyno. haven't actually tested it in the field. Although, I'm not sure how big of a problem it would be when the intake is on the bottom of the airbox, How much snow can be injested there?? I haven't looked at it really so I don't know. Either way, it was nice to figure out a little about that airbox. Air does weird things sometimes.

Arne, not sure myself how much snow dust gets down in there, but looking at the clutch side panel that vent would supply a nice fresh dose of snow dust and also belt dust will travel there and get sucked up into the air box.

;)!

Hey rocket where did you see the 2hp was it at max rpms or low to midrange, the reason i ask is we were out on very hard road last sat. running my attak vrs apexgt both sleds were stock except i had 10 miles more to start the day and we ended up with 192 and 203 on mine.ok i told shawn about the air filter trick,we stoped opened up the box and pulled out just the one thin piece of foam we could find right in the front of the box,now up to this point we were dead even, than we did this and he gained two sleds on me,so we swaped sleds same results,i hope it was the lack of air filter material, maybe someone can make a cheap airbox mod,and we get some better hp numbers for the top end, cause i only got better hole and midrange with the kit on my 03 rx1 but nothing better on topend, and yes we both ran 123 speedo and mine saw 128 flash once w/gps readings 108-109 wow speedos off worse than old 03 .. :bling

Pete, did some air box mod testing this weekend with good results. Calling for 10" of snow here and just starting to snow hard now. Time for some field testing!

That sounds great allen, keep us posted oh did you get any more of the helix you use in your stage 2 kit,and is it the advent-edge that you stated earlier that you wanted to use..?

Pete, the helix we use is an Advant-Edge helix, I wouldn't use anyone elses! I am currently out of stock again right now, but have 20 more coming on Tuesday (tomorrow). Right now I have been selling them faster than Advant-Edge can get material and cut them for me.

I don't have the dyno sheets here now, but for what I remember, it was a pretty even gain all the way through from 6500 to 8700 clutch rpms. We tried lots of other things, but the foam piece thing I figured would be kinda hard to try sell I guess, that's why I just put it out there. Now in the future I may have something put together as far as a prefilter to use and remove the foam from the airbox, but of course that will have to be tested.

did the sled without the foam gain the sled lengths? or the other way around, just curious as you didn't really state which one gained.

Rocket :die

Rocket, you've gotta change that damn avatar, makes me wanna puke every time I see it!

I guess some of my posts are hard to read, but yes i did say the gt that we removed the foam from, seemed to out run the attak now by 2 sleds, that he was unable to do with the foam installed, great work to both of you guys rocket, and allen ulmer please keep up the great work.. Pete :rocks:
