APEX ER Price in Upper New York State

i bought mine from action motor sports largest dealer in ny york last year. has the best prices. apex er in stock no set up charges will sell to canada foe 8900.00

06apexer, When you purchased your sled, did any border or provincial officials request the "manufactor recall compliance letter" ? Also did you come accross @ Prescott or Cornwall?

Thanks

I think you could bring it back at any time. My assumption is that Canada Customs is open 24/7. They seem to always be open to collect money!

Question...for anyone who has brought one back from the U.S. Do you need to stop at the U.S. border and explain what you are doing.....or just proceed to the Canadian border.

I Live near Ottawa, and last year I bought a 2005 RX1-ER in New York.

Just go buy it but don't pay NY taxes. Dealer should have the paper work for this. Mine did. It's a one pager.

Bring it back on the trailer and pull into Canada's Customs. They will walk out to the sled to see if there is a sticker on the tunnel. Can't remember what the sticker says, but be carefull if you have brackets installed for luggage. My brackets almost covered up the sticker they were looking for. This took 20 minutes.

You go back inside and fill out some paper work.

You them Pay the PST based on the current curacy exchange.

You pay about $150.00 for some kind of fee.

(The whole Custom things takes about 25 minutes and that was because the inspector had never done this before. I'm sure they are much faster at it now.)

You then go and get your Licence Plate (Or numbers) for the sled and pay the GST.

About 3-4 weeks later in the mail you will recieve paper work from customs telling you to take it in for a Saftey. My paper work last year told the mechanic to make sure there was a bumper on it. I didn't pay anything for this inspection. The mechanis then faxes off these paper to Ministry of Transportation.

About 4-5 weeks later you recieve another stick from them that you have to put on the tunnel.

I also took this same sled back to the US for warrenty work and it was fully covered. I had the slider rails replaced because they had cracks in them at the boggies. So you don't loose your warrenty.

I actually live is a town called Kemptville. For me to take it across the boarder is 35 minutes and for me to take it to nearest Canadian dealer is 25 minutes in Prescott which is 5 minutes from US boarder. Prescott to Ogdensbur NY is about 10 min.

Thanks Chrishall........I also live near Kemptville. Have dealt successfully with the dealer in Prescott in the past. The difference in price this year though is very significant.

Hi guys (Canton) it is no problem Bought mine 3 weeks ago brought it back Sat. morning it took 15 min. at Canadian customs. with all of my past encounters with Canadian dealers I would drive 2 hrs for any warrenty work then deal locally not to mention the money I saved.

Am I correct in assuming there is no duty to be paid for bringing a sled back from the US? And did any of the dealers you bought from request a US address for state sales tax savings?

Have we saved thousands, or is Yamaha pulling another fast one.

I bought a 2005 RX1-ER in the States last year for $7400.00 US. Now the Apex's GT is going for $10,500.00 US. Is it realy $3,000.00 US better? The 2005 RX1-ER last year in Canadian was going to be $11.000.00 Cdn. Seems funny the APEX GT is the almost the same selling price as the RX1-ER in Canada was last year.

Maybe Yamaha nows that if people THINK they are getting a deal, sales will go up. Pretty good marketing.

I know you're going to say they're different companies. It just seems funny.
