APEX: extend to 136" or 144"?

I believe that L.B. did something similar on a pro-action suspension where he lengthened the arms and did a set back. Perhaps something like that would be possible? I'd pm L.B. and get his valuable insight on the matter.

There is one reason and one reason alone that I upgraded to expertX suspension, and its not the superior performance..... Extension + setback DOES NOT WORK.

Due to the geometry of the suspension, compressing the suspension with the extension + setback will require that the track be able to STRETCH OUT by OVER TWO WHOLE INCHES. That just doesn't happen. If you set the track loose enough to get proper suspension travel, then it'll fall off the rails. If its tight enough to stay on the rails, the suspension won't compress.

Now use less overall extension and/or no setback, and it becomes possible to attain a balance where the track will stay on, and the suspension will work. Its still not ideal though.

I have an Attak extended to 151" using rail extensions with no problems in 1000 miles of off trail riding. I can also get billet 144 or 151 rails made as well (these rails are stronger than stock rails also).

Do you have any more photos or details on this extension? I am looking to extend my Apex from the factory 121in.

What did you do to make the rear deck extension?

You can still get rail extensions and tunnel extensions from Tracks USA for an Apex. The longest they make for a 121 suspension is to make it into a 144 tunnel & rail length.

I just used Tracks USA extensions to build a 146” Mono skid from some old 121” rails and Mono II arms, transfer rod, etc. The suspension mounting plates came from an old 136” tunnel. So far this stretched/tipped rail Mono skid is working fantastic under my ‘16 Apex.

That makes sense, I was thinking the same thing as an option to stiffen it up a bit.
