Seems what I heard in April is true, Apex GT still available for spring sale in Canada as dealers did not fill allotment.

Jim

Does not surprise me.

I took one of the four my dealer had allocated.

He still had 3 left when I was done

That was April 18 th.

I guess 15 large is a little much for us Canucks to swallow. I know it is gonna hurt next fall.

I don't really think there was a big shortage. I just think that the dealers that were selling them at low prices were over-sold and had to turn down a few snowchecks.
i know where i bought mine, the dealer called a few guys back told them he couldn't get them a GT and gave those guys abetter deal on a RTX. But another dealer 35 miles away didn't sell any, he was over $900 higher for his GT's.

Northern NY

Riverrat, You're from Morristown? I am from Madrid. I ordered a new APEX ER. ;)!

My roomate at Clarkson was from Morristown. Sent you a PM.

For those of you that bought GT's......were you able to get paperwork?

We bought 2 in our group.....no paperwork at all! This makes me a little nervous.

Got dealer paperwork. You should have that, if nothing else.

Did not ask for Yamaha Confirm for the sled.

Was not concerned as have dealt with this dealer for 13 years, Yamaha for 8 of them, and never an issue of any signifigance.

Besides, as mentioned above, my order was the first for the four GT'S that the dealer had booked , and it was April 16. ;)!

The dealer said here that there were only 250 GTs available in Canada. They also said they took more deposits then they should have based on the number of machines they can produce. Looks like some guys can afford it. I know I can't. The reason the prices ar higher is due to the free trade agrement between Canada/Japan. I think if someone from Canada bought one from the states. They would still have to pay duty and tariff on if because its made in Japan. You might still come out ahead. I might be inclined to look into it if I could save a few $$. I wanted to get one. However the prices are just insane. You would be able to buy one in two years for about $7,000 or less. I will let someone else take the hit. :D

There is no duty or tarifs on any sled manufactered in the world. You pay PST, GST & $182 to Transport Canada for a federal safety...that is it.

TURK is 100% correct on that.

Unless you have dual status, a license in the US you cannot buy one. PERIOD. I have tried so many ways around it that I have given up and am now buying a 2005. Keep in mind...this is a NEW thing that just came about this year.

Just to let you know they have cut off US buyers from buying in Canada as well. To be honest I think people running their mouths on the net is what screwed it up.

If you have a loop hole keep your mouth shut is my philosophy.

I think it's complete crap that Yamaha is doing that. If they are going to cut off a Candian from buying here in the US they should make it so a guy can buy a sled in Canada for the same price as he can buy it here.

I'm might not be getting my Attack. If anyone wants to give me the funds in US I'll buy it for you and sell it to you.

If you were buying an Attack for what I paid it would cost you 11,796.58 Candian today to get it. What did you guys pay in Canada for your sleds?
