Grounding the shock wire to the chassis seems to be able to take out the ECU along with the ESC fuse. If you check diagnostic code 29 in the service manual you can verify it. Yamaha has agreed to replace mine under warranty. It's in the shop now. A very special thanks to "David Radcliffe" at Roseville Powersports and to Kevin at Port Yamaha. I feel that David has gone way out of his way to help me resolve this problem. He will certainly get all of my future business. (he even had a set of the new bars for me)
