can anyone direct me to some reviews of the apex mtn for the west? it sounds like they rock on the flats, but how about in the mountains?

Depends on your purpose. Turbo and straight up a serious chute and they seem to go great. I chose the Nytro over the Apex in 2008 because I really felt the Nytro was a better sled for me. I like to do lots of boondocking and tree riding...........
All depends on your purpose I think. Obviously there are reasons why the sled is no longer made, some due to the fact the Nytro can do everything the apex did and probably some things alot better.

You need to be able to fight with it all day. It takes a lot more work to ride. I have an 08 Apex MTX SC I love it. You just need to be able to move the sled to get it to do what you want. It helps a lot to Super Charge it. After 3 years with the sled I can roll it pretty easy and ride in the trees. You just haver to ride it different then a smaller sled.
