Apex is like?

Another key element....Monster Works inc. Motion Bar Riser System. It's well worth the investment IMO.

ummmm,
ive riden the 08 xp 163" and the summit 1000 163" and dont see alot of difference in hill climbing tp the apex .If you ride correctly then climbing with a apex 163" is doable. The power is there its just you need momentum before you start climbing the hill because the weight.
With a few mods like seat, exhaust, and lightened suspension parts the apex climbs real easy.
A apex at 500 lbs is unstopable period, remember power to weight.

Relax man I'm not trying to ruffle anyones feathers here. I'm very familiar with every Mnt. sled currently offered, I've riden them all back to back to my Apex and I KNOW without doubt that a stock Apex will NOT climb anywhere the same that a stock XP or Dragon or M8/1000. I've tried and in all different conditions. Yes....You can finess the Apex by side hilling etc. but if you ride truly deep bottomless powder the weight is irreversible! I've done quite a few things to my sled except the Timbersled skid and CE track (which will make a huge difference) but the question was about an Apex in general. If you add $3000.00 to any of the forementioned sleds they will still out climb a non boosted Apex with all the weight loss goodies, power to weight ratio is a killer in the mountains! Obviously I like the Apex, I've spent tons on mine but I won't tell someone they will climb comparable when I've compared mine to all three other manufacturers and seen it time and time again they don't climb as well. Boondocking they are great in powder but not harder snow conditions. If you want them to climb comparable you must go with another suspension and track and loose the 90 lbs. ;)!
