Just wondering if anyone has retrofitted an Apex motor in the viper/procross chassis or heard of anyone doing this yet?

I talked to Dave at hurricane and he said it wasn't cost effective! I'm sure osp would do it but not for a trail machine!

I saw a Vipex at Snowest forum last year, i think the builder passed away and i dont know what happened to it after that.
It had CNC machined engine plates and it looked really awesome.

It would be a real nightmare to use Apex ecu to run the motor and the cat ecu to run hand warmers and dash. I put an Apex oor in an RX-1 and had to switch handlebars, and rig fuel pump into tank to make it work and I was basically the same motor. I guess you could use a set of Yamaha bars with their hand warmers, throttle and speedometer.

Really any idea what thread you saw that on I couldn't find it?

Why would you add that much weight to the front of a Viper? Turbo gets you much more power. Not trying to start a spat just wondering why you would want to?

I'd love an Apex motor in this chassis! I might be goin back to the Apex for the mph of it.. The HP with boost as well, see what happens this summer.

Vipers with turbo's have a hard time breaking 110 mph stock heavy old apexs without turbos can do that!

That's simply because they're not geared for it, stock gearing on any all the vipers at best is good for 105 mph, some can squeak out a bit more with overdriving the stock clutches, or machine the clutches for more, or spend $150 and get 2 new gears and a chain, mine with a simple gear change went from 109 mph all out with stock gearing to 116 mph and not shifted out yet, also remember the apex speedo is not right, my old mans apex only ran 104 mph in stock form, that's true speed, not what the speedometer said.

That's on hard packed snow, not ice or asphalt, and yes my 6 pound turbo viper ran 116 mph on regular hard packed snow right down the trail, with a speedometer that's been proven to be spot on. Turbo the viper for a reasonable price, gear it, and I guarantee it'll be faster than what it could be with the apex engine

Remember the Nytro motor is much faster in the nitro chassis!!! After CAT gets done with it might not break 90 mph with the Apex motor:o|

Well I'm not looking to build a trail sled it's gonna be a lake racer custom header turbo and intercooler standalone ect that's why I was interested to see if anyone has done one.
