Too heavy not enough clearance in the tunnel too many things stacked against it the snow outlaw cats weigh in just shy of 500 lbs no way to get an apex even close

Ok so your looking for a straight race sled because after a few years that cat chassis will be garbage under normal conditions
Yep pretty much. I have owned 8 apexs and 4 that have been boosted and there is no better sled for reliability then the apex! But for what I wanna do you can't compete unless you can get close in weight! And weight is free h.p.

If you need a lake chassis the apex is perfect
Yep what he said.
Yeah if that is your goal (Lake Racer) the route of Viper and apex motor and then the build would put it well into the $35000 price range depending how bad #*$&@ you were going to make it. My 14 viper with 1 motor blow (rebuild block and head work $6K) has almost $30 k in it. The one I am building now sled was $10k and the build budget is $14K without a motor change and all that needs to be done for that.

- Which one? I have 6
Yep what he said.
X3. Apex chassis has much more efficient transfer of power to the ice even with the weight.

The nytro/viper engine can take 600hp easy with a build from hurricane and I've seen 700hp out of his apex builds! Do the math most times then not you can't use 700hp the snow outlaws are in the 500-600hp range if I was in your shoes I would buy a viper long track xtx or mtx and build it with all the light weight parts out for that chassi and hurricanes engine and upcoming standalone!
The process chasis can handle the power with the right mods.I'm around them all winter. Most of this cat outlaw snow daggers are in the upper 500hp range.
Machzed.I talked to you at St Germain in the speed run line up.I was on my all white and black imp Stk turbo cat.I also have a snowdragger rx1 but just bought a osp chasis to drop my power plant in.

I may have a 2012 Nytro XTX with a Apex motor and a 290 MCX kit basically new like 500 miles or so that I might be selling. If interested let me know.
I remember talking to you how did your cat run? Did you buy kirk Robinson chassis? The process chasis can handle the power with the right mods.I'm around them all winter. Most of this cat outlaw snow daggers are in the upper 500hp range.

I was running a little over 130mph that day.I have got it tuned in a little better since then and got another 5mph out of it.
Yes I bought Kirk Robinsons chasis.

I just bought a viper with the motor out of it and was thinking about putting the apex motor in, but the motor hits the chain case on the right rear side, one throttle body will interfere with the brace on the right and exhaust would be about 1/4 inch from chain case seal. I took some pictures and motor still has to come back an inch to rear mounts - It may be possible to do but would be a lot of work and modification to chassis.

come on you don't have anything better to do right now! That frame brace was overkill anyhow cut it out. maybe make straight header that dumps und the seat for warmth. Notch the chain case and use that oil that they used to run commercials would run an engine for hours with no oil in it. And for the motor mounts, I once saw some Brits tie a motor back in a Jaguar prototype at Watkins glen with a coat hanger - Boom your done!
