I have a 2006 Apex ER, went to start after summer storage and no go. All i get is a click coming from somewhere down by the battery. When i turn the key to on, all the gauge lights come on, but when i turn the key to start, all the gauge lights go out and i get the click. The battery tender has been on the battery all summer so i doubt it to be the battery. What do you think is my problem? Thanks in advance for all of your help!

Pull the left right panel to expose the battery cables. Using a multimeter, touch the pos. and neg.; you should see 12.8 v for a good battery.
This will help eliminate one of the systems.

Most likely the battery if its low a bit the sled will not start. Put a set of jumper cables on it to your truck with the truck truned off. If it starts its the battery, if not you may have a bad starter. How old is the battery.

Check the cable connections at the battery. A loose or corroded connection would cause the symptoms you describe.

Thanks guys! Yep it was the battery. Jumped it with the truck and she started right up. Won't even stay running when I unplugg the jumper cables, so the battery must be toast. I thought that with having the tender plugged in all summer, the battery was fully charged, guess not. It was the original battery so I probably shouldn't complain!

One thing that happened on my old sled as the stator went out. The gauges would light up and the machine would turn over (but didn't sound right) and turned out the stator was junk. And that was after pulling it from storage after an entire summer. Things can go bad without any movement or problems. Just the luck of the draw. I do know that if you have an 08 and up there was an replacement part for the stator and helped relieve the problem of them going out. I do believe it threw the "Crankshaft Position Sensor" error which is in the stator assembly. Just something to watch for while everyone is starting to pull sleds out from summer storage.

The crank position sensor is on top back of the motor on my 06 and the 08 is the same I believe. When my stator went out last year it checked out OK but was still defective. Could the stator problem b caused by the hot wired bar warmers? Maybe.

The crank position sensor is actually inside the stator housing, and picks up the 8 "tabs" that are on the stator. It runs from that and the cam position sensor in the valve cover. The sensor in the back of the engine is the oil pressure sensor. The wires that come out of that are for the charging system and two of them are the housing. You'd need to start by checking spark if you think its either of those two, but it's likely other issues. Fuel pump relays are notorious, and corroded connections are a more likely culprit after storage.
