if left un plugged does the shock go full soft or full hard? Is there any aftermarket kit that will allow operation of this shock in a non-Apex application

it stays where it was last set. I had a buddy who replaced his display and it didnt have shock adjustment in the new one so we hooked up mine and set it full hard and left it there a year latter we checked and it was still set full hard. I do not know of any bolt on controller to have it be adjustable for other sled applications.

To best of my knowledge the shock will not remain where you set it if you un plug. The ECU feeds juice to the solenoid based on where you set it. The solenoid acts as an electro magnet and pulls the plunger up or down to change valving based on how much current is going through the windings. If not plugged in the plunger is going to go full soft or full hard. I think it defaults to full soft if the cord tears or is disconnected.

The shock itself has no memory. It relies on continuity to the ECU to maintain its setting.

okay maybe our test was not so scientific after all??????
