I know a few guys have taken their Apexes out west and I know I'm probably going to hear an earful for even pondering such an idea, but is it even worth my time? A group of guys are going out to the Big Horns at the end of February and as much as I would like to go I fear it may not be practical for me on my shorty.

i have some friends that come from min, we meet up at west yellowstone every year they all have short tracks and have a great time  just make sure your not the one busting the trail and you should be ok.Hell it wasnt that long ago when a 121 was a long track lol

Why i don't go to the bighorns I do sled some deep stuff around the best places in Idaho. If you want to go do it, a lot of friends ride 136 1.5 tracks and my wife rides a 121 1 inch track she has fun and wouldn't miss a trip ;)! out west its 80% rider ability just my 2 cents

Two years ago I went out west with a 121" RS Nytro. I put dumbo skis from a RS Viking on and had a 1.5" ripsaw track. The skis were awesome for keeping the front on top, unfortunately, the back would sink out of sight. The whole thing looked rather flaccid the way the sled drooped down!

I rode for about 1/2 a day. I didn't want to lose any friends as I was going to be there a week. (You can only have them help you get unstuck so many times!) I rented the other half a day and borrowed an F7 EXT the rest of the trip.

I am one who likes to go off the beaten path and play a lot. If you are the same way, expect to be stuck a lot. Make sure there is one or two snow bungees in your group! If you stick to the trails or follow some tracks is may not be so bad. A lot of it depends on teh snow conditions. Just my .02 worth.

If you can come up with a tall track and don't mind swapping a track for a trip, PM me. I can help you out with a driveshaft with 8 tooth drivers already pressed on.

There were 2 other RS Nytro's in my group with stock tracks. They mostly stuck to the trails and had a pretty good time without too many stucks.

I took my Apex Ltx to Revy last year in March and had no problems getting around and was riding with 2 other 121 Skidoos - it all depends on the snow - if its warm and set up it will be no problem - if its bottomless powder look at renting.
