apex power steering

I have two ... a 2011 SE and a 2012 XTX. I bought them after having shoulder surgery and I must say that Power Steering is the best thing that ever happened to the Apex. I can ride all day in the tight twisties (I can be an aggressive driver at times) and don't get the shoulder fatigue that used to cut my rides short when on my 07 Attack.

i didn't realize how well it worked until after 5 days of riding it and then i jumped on my buddies 2008 apex because he wanted to try the power steering. wow is all i can say, what a difference, his felt like it weighed 200lbs more, his handled great but the weight was very noticible. love my power steering, espicially being an XTX. you will love it

Power steering

I thought power steering was a joke until I put 800 miles on and I will NOT go back to the old unless it is a much lighter machine. All my friends who have the other brands liked it also, they thought it was the cats #*$&@. Just ride for a half hour on a power steering unit then switch its like, didn't anybody grease the steering!!!!! Also you can really put some bite in the front so when you hit ice it will turn. You will really appreciate it when you ride all day and if your getting older like me.

When I test drove all the new sleds at a demo days, I couldn't tell the difference in the ps apex vs mine with pilot skis. May be more noticeable in different conditions or longer riding but for the few miles I rode each machine I really couldn't tell. I did like the xtx apex.

Stock yamaha skis turn pretty hard but , pilots, powder pros and curves all turn very easy on the Apex/Attack and Rx1 sleds. If you go stock skis from no pwer steering to power steering its a big difference at slower speeds.

X2 on the XTX Apex, that would be my first choice for a new Yamaha.

Which brings up the point of why add the weight of the power steering if a ski change solved the issue in the first place. But in the defense of the ps. None of the ps machines I rode had the tuner skis on them.

So you mean the skis alone take away the hits too?once you try it you wount go back.

i test rode one last season and lo ed it. if i could aford it i would have one in a heartbeat. a blue one. :)

Ones you try power steering you'll never go back! Thats what happen to me. Loved my 2010 Nytro till I tried my wifes 2011 Apex. Went straight to Meyers Yamaha and tryed out an Apex XTX... SOLD!

I think it is not about hard versus easy steering but about much less chatter, hits coming from the skis to the bars that people really like with the Apex's and ATVs

I hope to have an XTX with power steering in the future

Love the power steering, only issue is a reduction in trail feedback, but it's a fair trade for the easy steering.
