First ride of the year on my MTX. Long story short, I got hung up in the middle of a climb and the sled rolled onto its handle bars and ran for 3-4 seconds WFO before I got the tether pulled. Runs fine, think I could have damaged the motor in that short of time? Didn't lose any oil, rollover valve worked perfect.

Nah youre fine, think of it like this. When you carve are you actually going the 60mph it says on your speedo? No you're not...its more like 10-20. Yes it is not healthy to run it wide open when not going anywhere, but if it made it home all happy and sunshine coming out of a unicorns butt then you're good to go. Glad to see you have a roll over tether. How much did that cost you? I deeply want one.

Im not at all worried about the RPMs with no load, its the possible loss of oil pressure from being upside down, although I personally think it would take more than a couple of seconds before the oil pump lost prime. Any thoughts?

It would have seized if it lost its prime and was not pumping oil through the system on the ride home. would it have not?

Can't say I know for sure, but that would be stupid engineering seeing how 99% of the time the engine is operated above idle. Would seem like a no brainer to have low pressure shut-down regaurdless of throttle position. Shoot my generator with antique tecumpseh engine has low oil shut down.

I remember seeing an engine oil commercial a few years back, they ran the engine with oil then drained it, then they ran it like forever with no oil in the engine, just whatever coated the internal engine parts! Pretty sure a few seconds without the oil pump will do no harm ;)!

Just use good oil and do what you said you did, yank the tether as fast as you can when you run into that situation.
Even thought they are a dry sump system, there is still a small amount of oil within the oil pan that that will flow back into the engine if it's over far enough, otherwise, you'd have to be beyond 90 degrees over for the pickup in the tank to not get oil.
If you're concerned about anything try taking a magnet retriever and put it in the oil tank through the dipstic and check for anything large enough to make out it's shape. Small "sparkles" are normal, but if you have anything larger, change the oil, run it for a while and check with a magnet again. i'm doubting you hurt anything, but that's a rough way to check without tearing things apart.

Im going to pull the screen in the oil tank to check for possible debris and send an oil sample in for analasis.

when you got it back up right did it start right up and run fine or did it sart and die start and die or just not start for a little while? if it started right up and ran fine didnt die and started like normal not cranking for ever to start then it never lost its prime. I have rolled my apex 3 diffrent times and each time i lost prime and it would not start at first then it would start and die then it wolud start and run. but never hurt the motor put on a few thousand miles after the last roll over before trading her in and she never missed a beat. I would bet dollars to donuts you are just fine.
