apex runs very rich. need help

I put an apex motor in my rzr but I can't get it running right. I've got the rzr fuel pump sending 39psi to the motor. It gags if you give it gas too quick. But if you lay into it runs much better. And it has no power like it should. It's a non turbo 06 apex gt. This other guy has my exact same setup and no programmer or anything. It's bone stock and he said his is very fast and runs great. It seems to me like its getting way too much fuel. I bought an auto tuner and took away a lunchbox fuel so it would run "ok". Any ideas onwhat the problem might be?

What do you have as an air filter? Could it be a lack of rather than an excess of fuel?

You've got a good point. But I've got four k&n filters on. I figured it would flow just fine.

keep in mind, the stock apex has near 0 restriction.

I took the filters off and it still ran like crap. Did I mess up on the wiring somewhere? I've got no trouble codes coming up besides grip warmer code. This thing has horrible throttle response and uses a bunch of gas.It may not be running rich. It just seems like it is. Or something else keeping it from running right.

Did you try it before the tuner? What are you using for a fuel pump?

I am using the rzr fuel pump. I've got an apex fuel pump but it will take a little work to get it in there and working right. My rzr pump is new and supposed to push 39psi
