Just finished the install of the MPI Supercharger set at 10 lbs on the Apex, wondered what EFI settings others are using (step by step) and clutch setups on flatland. I'm in Michigan. PS Make sure you buy the stock crankcase gasket before you start the install since it tears when you pull the cover off.

Tomorrow I can grab my sheets from the shop and let you know some basic starting points that we are going off of.

got a slight hesitation just off idle , using green 1.5, yellow 6, red 3, green/blue 7.5, yellow/blue 1, red/blue 8. running at 10 lbs in Michigan. Anybody got other settings? Just got the wideband today but haven't got the sensor welded yet. How about clutching? I have a team 52-40 with heel clickers loaded with two long bolts 2 washers in each and 6 washers in the heel... about 68 grams. using a yellow white yellow spring. Engagement is a ridiculous 2500 but the sled shifts out at 10,000.

I wouldnt do much screwin around with the controller until you get the o2 sensor up and runnin. I dont know what the elevatiion is in MI im guessing around 2k or so. I dont have my sheet in front of me. But it looks like you could lean down mode 1 to the fast blink, mode 3 looks lean if my elev guess was close, mode 5 could use alittle more fuel to give a better throttle response. The 2500 engage might have something to do with the stutter.

onrof your fuel settings are very close to the 3 different maps that I have. On all of the maps I have Mode 4 is set at 7. Mode 1 can be set anywhere from 1 - 2. All your other settings seem right on for our elevation. Hopefully I will get my o2 sensor this week so next weekend I will get some testing in. I think you need to get your engagement up to 3500 at least. See what happens then.

Thanks for the suggestions. I ran the sled against my stage 2 rx1 @12lbs. I got out faster but the turbo would pull at midrange and top. I noticed a slight vibration in the supercharged sled at high rpm. I even noticed the boost level would sometimes drop from 10 to 8. I was finally having so much fun though I figured it was somehow the ten inches of snow on Lake Cadillac causing the vibration. Then the sled wouldn't pull any boost. Thought my intakes boots blew off again but turned out to be the supercharger drive belt cogs came off. Probably too loose and I never checked it after it was together. Had alot of fun finally but didn't get to try the other settings. Having the O2 senser bung welded in monday. Anyone got any other clutching suggestions?

Onrof,
Had the same thing happen to me this weekend. Talked to MPI and they said the belt was too loose. Also have a Stage 2 at 10 lbs on an Apex and also had that slight stumble off idle but lost the belt doing hole shots to try and correct. If anyone has corrected the problem would like to see their fuel settings Thank's :D

We are just putting together a Apex with stage one at low boost, any fuel setting suggestions and clutching would be welcome.
Do you do motor mods( head gaskets , spacers, cam timing) to run 10 pounds?
Or will race-gas or av gas be enough to be save at 10 pounds.

Cheers....

If you run race gas that is enough for 10# of boost. I did 3 head gaskets so I could run pump gas at 10# of boost. Both ways will work fine. The fuel mapping settings are all based off of what elevation you are running at. Are you a mountain rider or flatlander.

Ran the sled around the lake over and over today with the O2 sensor hooked up. I would run the sled at 1000rpm increments for a mile or so. except for rpm over 8000 since the lakes getting bumpy with all the snow. Seems like it rarely goes higher than 12AFR. even at wide open spurts. At idle it's around 12 or less then when you roll on the throttle it goes as high as 16 before the sled starts to move, sometimes wheezing then the clutch engages. Is 12's good? what about the idle and mid circuits?

I mounted the sensor just before the muffler and stuck the gauge in the handlebar pad right next to the boost gauge.[/img]

They want the A/F to be between 11.5 to 12.5 while at driving speeds. 11.5 being the richest and 12.5 being the leanest.

Powder muncher I dont have any settings for your elevation but I would think MPI should have a good starting point for ya. Otherwise you will have to try to find someone that is running at close to the same elevation as you are.
