Yes sorta, when i say that its because the powertech 8 was clutched and had a dynoport can,but man did it haul the mail,we were on warm sloopy snow up in the county in maine last friday night,so i guess it was cooling off a little by the time we raced, but it had been 45-50 degrees all day. Now my buddy has a apex gt studded with 96 down the middle and ulmer clutch kit and he weighs 150# dry, with 1300 miles on his gt,the rev driver was tall and weighed 190,so it was fairly close and he said the doo only had 150 miles on it,they lined up and the doo driver threw a snow ball in the air and when it hit the ground they were off,do out pulled him that run by a little bit than i ran him with stock clutched rtx and i am 240# i pulled him till top when he went by me 4 sleds,my little buddy raced again, this time he ran the doo and he lost to the apex w/doo driver, they said it was real close, but both guys were impressed with each others sleds..pei apex said:has anyone raced a stock 800 powertec with a stock apex?

800 PT broken in & clutched is a very quick sled. My buds own a lot of em & any Apex has gotta be tuned spot on to run with a well tuned 800. My buds are good doo tuners & in the right hands they run very hard. A stock Apex VS a tuned 800 PT , Apex won,t win. This is against a tuned broken in 800 doo.

Played around with my buddies power tec with my stock RTX , conditions have been less than ideal but raced once on a resevoir from a stand still and i pulled him out of the hole and all the way through. We raced on the trail from about 30 mph and it took till 95mph to really start to walk away. The apex has longer legs up top but midrange looks to be close

I've seen well tuned PT800's beat unsuspecting stock Mach Z's easily in a 1000 ft drag race.A guy I know has a stock PT800 and although I didn't drag him he was no match for my apex on the lake last weekend over 100mph.

A well setup 800 is tough to beat. Stock for Stock, though, I believe the 800 will lose.
I know they run good, but I still think the Apex has the edge. I ran my buddies 05 (he weighs 140 lbs) with my Apex and beat him in a short race (about 600 feet). I weigh 210, and his weight advantage usually wins him alot of races. Seat of the pants, they're not even close to an Apex. I also haven't seen too many radaring at the speeds that Apexes are achieving.

I raced 3 Rev 800's in a 1000 ft
My stock Apex was ahead by 3-4 sleds
ran them all twice with the same results

My son has a Rev 800 stock. He rode my apex and said "Wow". I can take him in short runs by a couple sled lengths. Haven"t had enough snow to get out on the lake to put it to the test. His bud's 700 MXZ is no match I would give him 4 or 5 lengths and blow my him. He got so he hated the sound of my sled coming up on him!

Regular rev 800s dont seem to be in the same ball park as the newer powertecs 800 are, seems the 05 and now 06 are very very fast all the way thru there powerband,as the older ones non powertec would fall off some on top end compared to the new ones..

- 2021 polaris assault 850,18 sidewinder ltx,14 nitro xtx,06 apex rtx,
my stock rtx with 350 miles would pull my buddies polaris xc800 by 5-6 sled lengths to about 100mph,his sled is no slouch, hes run a lot of sleds and usually does really well, ran a stock 05 machz and pulled it 5 lenghts to 100,i havent run any doo's yet but everything else i run against was behind me up to 100mph,06 mach z,06 renegade,03 zr900,the closest was my buddies xc800,im sure something will beat me somewhere but for stock out of box its crazy quick
