Iv'e been reading all of the discouraged (or so it seems) posts after the haydays results came in. I don't know if anybody has posted this, but here is a video of a APEX and MACH on snow. Paus the video just before they go by and you can see the APEX is ahead by about a sled length.

Now is the new LED tail/brake light as good as it looks or does it look that way because the MZ headlight is shining on it? LOL
But yeah we have seen that.

It is still good to watch. :flag:
might have been at least part of the reason some doo guys were on here a while back trolling for trouble :D

From my experiance the LED's are that much brighter ;)!

My buddy (z rider) said it wasnt a mach z just a look alike. He's a big baby about this video. I told he if he gets beat by a Apex with 30 less HP he better switch. :moon: I also told him Yamaha has the most "usable" HP according to SnowTech. ;)! LaLaLa  :yam: :4STroke:

It doesnt matter whos sled is faster... because even if you do beat a mach Z he will give you excuse after excuse as to why he lost..

The mach z should be faster ,,, hell its got 15 more HP than the apex at the same weight!

You have to figure though... 15 hp at the engine is only about 8 more HP at the track!

Just my 2 cents but,
I am impressed with the fact they are comparing the Apex to the Mach for everyone to read about. In the past they totally dismissed 4 strokes as real competition. Sure you are going to get the writers point of view and not everyone is going to agree with it! But its Damm close and I can live with that! It's really got the Skidoo lovers going... LaLaLa LaLaLa

Reliability
Great gas mileage and No $30 + a gallon oil to add
:4STroke:

Now where is my GT!!!! This Snow Check stuff kills me by the end of the summer LOL

This is going to be an interesting year. In my riding group one bought the Mach and the other one owns a 95 Cat 900. Well see what happens after the SNOW falls!!!!

The problem with this video is that now everyone is going to expect the apex to beat the mach z all the time. The mach z is supposed to be 175 hp this year and the apex is 150hp,I would think the apex should run with zr 900 and fusion 900 both at around 150hp.

As was said before, the Doo folks have had a few years to test and tune their sleds, whereas the Yamaha folks have only had a few months.
I dont put much stock in the Haydays results because its only 500 ft.
I say get all 4 of the big iron from all the manufacturers and lets do a 300 mile trail ride. Then, at the end of the day, lets see whos had the most fun, whos the most tired and who were were waiting to catch up and who spent the least on gas/oil.
To me, the enduro racing season has much more bearing on what the "best" sled is than does a 500 ft sprint accross the grass.

It should be about 800ft, to trully see what sled has potential and what doesn't.

LOL Agreed, BlueBlood.
I kind of get a laugh at other forums where people are talking about buying a used sled with 5,000 miles on it and everyone says, "5,000 miles on a '02???? Thats a lot of miles."
I get a laugh out of that because folks here on TY wouldnt even bat an eye at a Yamaha sled with 5,000+ miles on it and some have older SXs, SX Rs and Vipers with 10,000-15,000+ miles with no problems on them.

That is not the same results I have seen. Plus, if you watch that video, the Mach light drops a few times like he is letting off the throttle. The coming season will tell, but the Mach will beat the Apex on top end. To the C-note is is close however, stock to stock. In the races I witnessed, the sled that got the jump would lead until the top.
