In what distance? If long enough, I guess the GT would start catching it?fogilization said:Gentlemen,
My brother and I have ran the 07 RTX against my 06 GT and the gearing makes a substantial difference all through the powerband. It is almost hard to believe. We also have an 06 RTX and a 06ER that we ran against just to make sure the GT was running ok because the difference was that big. I have changed my gear and chain to match the 07 RTX.

Srxspec said:2007 RTX comes with 22/38 gearing combination which requires a 68 link chain (23/38 & 24/38 use a 70 link). I can get any top gear for $35, but I usually just stock the 23's. Stock 07 RTX with our Stage 2 clutch kit and windage plates on 1/2 mile run 113.9 gps (clutches were fully shifted out). The speedo showed 128.
The chart provided shows a 68 link chain with the 23/38 gearing, you're saying the 23/38 uses the 70 link chain just like the stock 24/38 gearing. Who is right???
srxspec is right! you can use the 70 chain on 23-38 gearing!

23/38 uses 70 link chain. A few mistyped numbers in the chart, I'll repost them later!

never catch him
By the time the speed evens out you would need miles to catch him. That is why I switched the gears and chain. I recomend switching the chain because you could bind the stock chain and rob performance.

I rechecked all the numbers on the chart and they are correct. When using the formula using the center to center distance on jackshaft & driveshaft in combination with the top and bottom gears it does say to run a 68 link chain with the 23/38 combination. I ran 1100 miles last season with 23/38 on a 70 link chain and it worked fine as well. Yamaha specs the Attak using the 23/38 gearing from the OEM as a 70 link chain as well.

That's what they should come with. Reverse or not they should all be 22/38.

23 top Gear
I don't beleive it, I've never seen or heard other than BS that an Apex can hit those numbers. I've got an Apex Gt with the Hauck kit with K&N filters on it and have raced a lot of competition and never have I hit over than 110 mph on this sled. Stock or mod. As far as spending money on mods for a four stroke, don't it's a waste of money. Unless you spend the coin on a turbo or NOS, I personlly don't think the other products give you any advantage. By the way guys don't waste your money on the Hauck GYT R DUN KIT!! I've got one for sales If anyone is interested.BlueByYou2000 said:I have a 40 bottom gear which is basically the same gear ratio the 23 top is, and ran a best of 123 on radar. 1/2 mile, 192 trail studs, stock track, and ride height. Totally stock clutching with exception of white secondary spring and machined primary and helix. Ill take that anyday...BBY
